"Carter come on get up! Long day ahead of you." My mom said as she flicked my rooms lights on and off several times. She finally stopped when I rolled over and sat up. "Get dressed breakfast is waiting." She left the room and closed my door. I felt much much better than I did yesterday. Way less hung over and no headache. I was almost happy until I realized I had to go to the crazy house after school.

I don't understand how they can legally do that anyways. Volunteering at a mental place has to be dangerous and stuff and also it's a women's institute. You can't just thrust a teenage boy in there can you? Well there are male nurses but still, that has to be violating something.

I pulled on my adidas track pants and a white t-shirt before heading down to breakfast.

Surprisingly I wasn't late like I am most morning and I actually got to enjoy my breakfast. Today chase was the one running down the stairs in a hurry.

Carson drove us all to school and we went our separate ways. I met up with my friends by our lockers as usually and the conversation was short and sweet. Something about Ryan trying to bang the science teacher. That boy is so desperate.

The day played out as normal with the regular boring classes and hanging out with Amelia at lunch. She still really didn't want me volunteering there.

"Enough crazy chicks want you in this school, can you imagine how many people will lust after you in there?" She puzzled her blue eyes sparkling up at me. She laid her hand protectively on my arm She was very pretty and any guy would want her, but she often said she didn't want anyone in this dump and I couldn't blame her.

"Relax it's not like it's filled with teenage girls, there's old lady's and i don't know maybe kids too." She shrugged and I smiled at her. "Don't worry having one crazy girl around me is enough." She hit my arm playfully before we parted to head to class.

Mom picked me up after school. Carson and Chase had practice so it was faster if she brought me up there.

We arrived early, a half and hour early to be exact. Mom made me go in anyways as she said it would make a good impression to be early on my first day.

"Mom I'm pretty sure my ship sailed for good impressions when the beer bottle hit the wall." She glared at me before putting the car in park.

"Well it might help get a better impression."

We walked up to the heavily gated doors and pressed the button on the lock buzzing us in. We heard a click meaning it was unlocked and we went inside. The door heavily closed behind us clicking again.

This place was harder to be in sober. I could hear distant screams from far away rooms, and everything was a grey white colour in the entrance and office. We went to the desk and explained who we are before being brought into the main nurses office. Nurse Rosemary wasn't there at the moment and we were told to just wait in the seats across from her desk.

We waited for about 10 minutes before a flustered looking Rosemary came into the room. She sat behind her desk and let out a sigh while straightening up her hair and smoothing out her clothing.

"I'm sorry for the wait I was handling a problem with a patient." I nodded and my mom started the conversation.

"Don't be sorry, it's your job. Okay so here are all the papers.." she said passing the stack of things I signed across the desk to her. "And what else will he be needing?"

"A few things I'll need him to sign later but as of right now this is all. Now Mrs.Barron if you would like you can go and I get Carter here used to the way things work. My mom nodded before getting up and leaving the room.
