An empty void like no other.

She could not feel any warmth left inside her heart other than the sheer frost of its cold interior lingering within.

"My poor little sister. Life is full of unfairness, but you can go through it as long as you are brave and filled with hope. You were brave and hopeful to the end, and that's wonderful. Sadly, we cannot change others' views of the world that easily and many unfair things will always be present no matter what. This does not mean however, that your life is coming to an end. It is only the beginning of your true end. One that can simply be called a miracle. And as if on cue, Yin Lanying's eyes slowly opened to see the light.

It engulfs her vision and she closed her eyes once more, feeling her heart being covered by a blanket of warm hugs.

Even for a long moment after realizing the fact that she went back through time, Yin Lanying still can't believe that she was given another lifetime opportunity.

She had opened her eyes to a different scenery that was all too familiar to her. Her room, her lovely view of the courtyard garden, the smell of osmanthus flowers in the garden, anything that screamed nostalgia for her. Yin Lanying's thoughts began with looking at herself in a mirror to confirm her rebirth.

"Reincarnation is real. . .it really is real!"

Her emotional walls that kept her bottled up feelings inside had shattered and the tears that haven't shed for years in the previous lifetime finally dripped down her cheeks. She sobbed and wailed loudly, unlike having to quietly keep them inside. It was like something was allowing her to cry her heart out without anything disturbing her moment.

After a couple times of using her bed cover to wipe away her snot and tears, she calmed down and looked outside to see the courtyard that she came back to.

". . .Now that I look at it now, the place is too fitting for a gold digger. Ugh, my tastes in these are horrible. . ." Yin Lanying cringed and couldn't bear to look at the courtyard any more, calling out for her maids to take all the gaudy decorations away.

Wait, maids?

". . .Qiao Chi? Qiao Na?"

"Fourth miss, we're both here!"

Two young girls dressed in plain, blue attire entered her room with smiles on their faces. They held folded outfits and one of them held out an outfit for Yin Lanying to see if she wanted to wear it today. It was really too colorful-looking and lacking in aesthetic essence.

But that's not what she was thinking about. She was looking at her two maidservants with a speechless stare.

Since when. . .

Since when did Qiao Chi and Qiao Na became so bright and expressive? They were never this happy before. Could it be the result of her reincarnation altering some events of the past? That must be it.

Seeing two and three outfits after one another only made the young miss sigh heavily and rub her forehead. Gosh, she really needs to ground herself down more. "Take all of those outfits to the market and sell all of them." There's no way she's looking at the awful outfit designs too.

Qiao Chi, the one with a side ponytail on her right, spoke with surprise. "B-But young miss, you won't have anything else to wear outside!!" Yin Lanying eyed the girl and remembered her as the older sister who needed to mature to protect her younger sister from being bullied by the other servants because she and her sister served her. The older girl often wore a serious face and spoke up for her sister to let herself get bullied instead.

Sister. . .eldest sister.

Yin Lanying immediately stood up from her bed and rushed out the door with her panicking maid sisters following from behind.

"Young miss! You can't go out wearing your pajamas!!"

"Yin Rue and Yin Rui will do something about it!"

Qiao Chi and Qiao Na's words further confirmed her suspicions of their change. Who were they? Why did they end up being her maids?
