It's...Mark? But how, I thought he was back in Vancouver?
You march towards his car,
"Does miss y/l/n need a ride?"
"What do you want Lee?" You snicker with pride.
"My family moved and I wanted to look around. aren't you going to go in your best friend's car or what?"
"Well...." You drag,
"I can't really break a promise, I owe you one ."
"Fine have it your way." To be honest, you don't know if you should be happy or if you should be disappointed that Markis driving you. What kind of dude leaves without telling his friends?
The road trip passed in a blur, but all you're fantasizing about is the next netflix series you'll watch when you get back. Doesn't seem like they'll be happening anytime soon though.
A sharp shrill of the horn, snaps your eardrums.
"What the hell was that for Mark!?"
"We're here."
You sigh, scrambling get out of the car.
Closing the car door, "Where did you say you live again?" Mark ask, leaning against the smoothed metal.
"Close to Adelaide street."
"Cool!"
Slinging your bag over your shoulders, you paste a sheepish grin on your lips. "Uhm thanks for the ride...do you maybe want to stay over, until it's less hazy?"
God why are you such an awkward jellybean?
You eye him carefully for his reaction. His broody, cinnamon gaze lingers off in the distance, yet the corners of his lips betray him with a slight grin. "Sure."
Once Mark is inside the house, you send you mom a quick text letting her know Mark is staying over.
Knowing you two are childhood friends, she approves.
"So any drama I've missed?" Mark's head tumbles into his hands, a playful smile zipped on his face.
"Not really... Oh! By the way, what school do you go to?"
You wince in pain as Mark flicks your forehead. "Your school dummy! You think I'm going to ditch you like that? Oh that reminds me, have you heard about the new guy, Shawn Mendes?"
That name alone makes your blood boil with a passionate anger.
"Yeah, I've seen him around I guess..."
He leans forward in his seat, like an student absorbed in a teacher's lecture. "Is he nice? Have you ever talked to him?"
You scoff.
"I've never met someone whose head has been that far up his ass. And he's rude too!" You sigh, gaze softening as you glance at Mark. "Hey, at least I have my best friend now. Who cares about that guy?"
