I sat now in the empty courtyard. Leaning my head against the archway I was sitting under, I breathed in deeply.
Was I a fool to think that Ron would always be there for me?
There were plenty of other girls on these grounds, but I never thought that someone would be getting in the way.
The scene of Lavender kissing him replayed in my mind.
Trying to hold it in but failing, I choked out a sob as the tears began to fall again.
"Y/n..." "Y/n.."
I heard two voices approach me from behind as I quickly rubbed away my tears and straightened my posture.
"What do you want Freddy? Georgie?" I asked while still facing forward. I knew it was them already without having to turn around.
Shifting my position a little, I looked up at them with the biggest smile I could muster. It was already quite obvious of what my true emotions were. The smile wiped away as the two just looked at me silently, both looking equally concerned.
"We're sorry you had to see that y/n." George said as he sat down on my right.
"Our brother has always been a dumb fool, you know that.." Fred joined in as he sat to my left.
I fiddled with my fingers. He wasn't wrong. But I never truly thought that.
Shaking my head at the two. I answered them both softly. "It's quite alright..." I sighed while looking up at the night sky.
"Sure Ron uses his heart more than his head, but that's one of the things I love about him."
...Love?
Did I love Ron?
The twin's eyes grew as I finished my sentence. They were just as shocked as I was. I knew that I fancied him more than a friend but...love?
"Y/n...did you just say.." Fred started. "That you love Ron?" George finished. They both looked at eachother with a sorrowful look. In any other condition they would have cheered, but this wasn't the time.
I let out a bitter laugh as I buried my face into my hands. "Isn't that just wonderful?" I said sarcastically. "I find out my true feelings after he's off snogging someone else."
They both took hold of one of my hands, the warmth of their palms gave me comfort. I gave each of them a soft 'thank you'. I'm glad that these two were here for me.

A small flock of canaries flew around us at the result of the charm, chirping happily in the moonlight.
"You'll always be our little sister y/n." George said softly as he held out his hand, one of the birds landing on his palm.
"Yea, you'll still be with us for Christmas, yea?" Fred questioned while looking at me hopefully.
I gave them both a small smile and nodded. "Of course, I wouldn't miss your mum's cooking for the world."
They nodded and gave me a patient smile before returning their attention to the birds.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence. The loud noises of happy squeals and giggles echoed down the corridor.
Please...please, not now.
My silent pleas were denied as the sounds revealed themselves to be Lavender and Ron.
They had their hands interlocked, making me want to hurl.
"Oops." Lavender said as she looked at the three of us. "I think this room's taken." She giggled while being uncomfortably close to Ron.
She skipped away and Ron allowed her to slip away. He looked up at the birds that fluttered around us.
