"OH MY GOD, SOMEBODY HELP ME!" I'm yelling at the top of my lungs as I dart across my apartment floor, wearing a unicorn onesie. My arms are waving frantically and I can only hope that one of my neighbors has the grace to help me out during these wee hours in the morning.
"Seriously what is your problem?!" One of the neighbors pokes his head out of his door and snaps at me.
"Okay first off..that's a bit harsh." I deadpan. In response the neighbor scoffs and slams the door shut. "Wait no, I didn't mean it! Come back I need your help! This is life or death we're talking about here! I might DIE!!"
"Die then!" I hear another neighbor shout from inside their apartment room. "Maybe then we'd finally get some sleep!"
Woah..savage!
Feeling a bit embarrassed, I stand in the middle of the hallway and shuffle my feet. I'm still panicking though. There's no way I can go back to my apartment until I am 100% sure it's safe! My ears perk up at the sudden ding of the elevator doors. Quickly I whirl around and am met with a sleepy looking boy. I notice the luggage behind him and put two and two together.
"I think I'm on the wrong floor.." He mumbles to himself.
"Wait!" I call out to him before he could close the elevator. "I need your help!"
Without waiting for a reply, I snatch his wrist and lead him into my apartment and over to the crime scene.
"Look over there." I whisper, pointing to the wall next to my bed.
"What am I supposed to be looking at?" The boy squints.
I lead him closer to the wall and point again, "That!"
"You've got to be kidding me." He says dryly. "A spider, seriously? I thought someone died or something."
"Yes, seriously!" I shout defensively. "And something did die, namely my will to live alone!"
"But it's not even that big.." he trails off. "heck I don't think it's even as big as a centimeter."
"That's why it's deadly!" I yelp. "Please kill it now."
"I can't believe you can't do this yourself." He grumbled and grabbed a tissue from my nightstand. Anxiously I watch from behind him as he swiftly takes care of the spider. When the worst was over, I let out a sigh.
"Whew! Thank god that's over!" Exhausted, I plop down on my bed. I gather enough energy to lift up my head, and only my head to address the boy in the room.
"By the way thanks a ton for your help! You can leave now." I smile cheekily.
"That's it?" He deadpans.
"Yep!" I answer and pull up the hood of my onesie onto my head and plop my head back down. "Peace out new neighbor!"
I glance at him through the hood. He doesn't look very amused. I watch him turn his back and head out. Before he left he turned to me.
"Have fun with the spider's siblings!" He said cheerfully.
"WHAT?!" I bolt right up, the hood to my onesie fell down into my line of sight. The boy stared at me for a few seconds and then started laughing.
"See ya!" He waved and shut the door after him. Nervous I glance from side-to-side.
"There's nothing here." I whimper to myself.
Something from my closet made a loud boom and I jumped up and off my bed. "OH HELL NO!!"
Out of my apartment I ran. The boy hadn't left the hallway yet as he was checking something on his phone. I remembered that I had heard him say something about being on the wrong floor before I dragged him to kill that creature from hell. Fortunately I was able to beat him to the elevator. He tried to get in but I blocked his path with my legs. Frantically, I began pushing the button that would take me to the lobby.
