Chapter 9

Seth glared at the back of the DamnThing as he kicked it.  The DamnThing didn't move an inch and Seth kicked it again before calling the little one over.  When he called it Little Buddy Marthag collapsed laughing and he got yelled at by Leosafr.

She had just stood up and thumped her foot at him.  "Not calling him Little Buddy you skin ball.  You also are not going to name him breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  We are discussing names since they don't seem to have individual names."  Just for good measure she thumped her foot at him one more time.

Seth was laughing as he moved to the side and let the little one charge at his father again.  This time the Big Pappa moved and the little one charged out and took out one of his siblings.  That started a cub fight full of growls, something like a hiss, and roars.  All three of them were rolling around as they were pawing at each other and biting as well. 

Marthag walked up behind him and leaned against his back and nuzzled his neck before running her tongue up the side of his neck and behind one ear.  His reactions to her 'advances' were so funny.  It made the others laugh and snicker as well which was why she kept doing it.

Seth contemplated her and then decided to ignore her.  He yawned before speaking.  "Morning Marthag, did you sleep well?  I did and I think I am getting used to my furry bed partner...  Might get some serious cuddling in this evening before sleep."  Just for good measure he added a hint of sensuousness to his voice.

Her ears popped up straight and she twitched slightly.  That most definitely wasn't the response she had been expecting from him.  The tone of his voice was most definitely suggestive and his body posture was relaxed.  "Um, we will see how tired we are this evening."  She moved around him and headed out of the cave only to get picked up by a massive paw and she squealed.

Big Pappa, as Seth was coming to think of him, had scooped her up and was staring at her.  He gave her a good sniff from her toes to her ears.  Once he was satisfied he had her scent he gave her a swipe of his tongue from her belly to the top of her ears before putting her down.

Marthag growled at him as he was sniffing her though she knew what he was doing.  Now the tongue was uncalled for and she growled even more.  "Not funny you DamnThing, I am not tasty and there isn't any reason to check and see."  She crossed her arms and glared at him till he put her down and smoothed her fur down.

Seth snickered at her as he walked out and was scooped up.  *Don't even think of using the tongue since my suit will probably taste icky.*  As the DamnThing gave him a good sniff he settled for a glare.  As expected he got licked as well but when Big Pappa looked revolted Seth smirked.  *I tried to tell you, humans aren't nearly as tasty as Warblers.*

The DamnThing stared at him for a moment before tossing him into the middle of the little Damn things and wandered off to the side and settled down.  He was mentally snickering at their reaction as well as Seth's.

Seth saw the glint in the DamnThing's eye but didn't get a chance to say or do anything before he was flying through the air.  When he landed it was more a case of bouncing off several of the little DamnThings.  He hit Little Buddy on an upper side, bounced off and hit face first in a second one, and finally landed on the ground on his back.  "Oh man I hate you Big Daddy..."  He rolled over and dove under one DamnThing as another tried to pounce on him and ended up getting stuck between its paws.

At that point he knew it was over as they decided he was a good DamnThing toy to play with.  He did his best to fight them off without hurting them.  Seth could tell they were just playing but their definition of playing was pretty rough.  As he was trying to crawl away Kletharl came over and started licking his face.  He growled at her for the abuse.  "Be useful and rescue me you fur ball.  I really need the bathroom."
