Chapter-14

At about the same time

*A male voice coughs slightly*

In another universe, long, long time back. This is what they called Wild Asian Era in a country called Jipang... but let's not go towards that.

The Wild Asian Era started when the arrows were replaced with strong guns. 

HOWEVER... the power of the arrow or the bullet did not only depend on the speed, precision and marksmanship. But rather on the person who wielded them.

The power of Haki... the ambition and will power of the person is used widely to attack. In simple terms, Haki is an ability to sense and predict spiritual energy (Kenbunshoku), use life force as physical reinforcement (Busoshoku), and, for the rare "chosen ones", overpower enemies' willpower with your own (Haoshoku).

Strong winds, long deserted lands with inhabited towns that are too far from each other. 

And these deserted lands where the Devils workspace. 

Horses carried people, there was a definite higher system of government and laws.

The only problem that it wasn't able to reach out to all the islands.

Hence it the world is just as ruthless as it has always been...

"How did you get such a nasty cut?!?!"  cried Lady Tashigi as she saw Ethan's leg.

She turned towards Zorro in a fury. In the darkroom with only a candle to illuminate the room, Zorro could still see her face filled with anger. He was about to apologize. The air was so full of heavy tension.

But wait! It wasn't my mistake! he thought.

"Look here Tash-" Zorro started

"I am GLARING at you right now!!" she said with her noses flaring.

That face made him chuckle softly only to increase the amount of glaring Lady Tashigi was doing and Zorro's mind registered fear.

"Ya ya, I know you are glaring at me Tash... but listen. It wasn't my fault. I am still trying to understand what hit Ethan" Zorro completed.

Zorro moved further close to Ethan and traced his fingers around the region of cut carefully. 

He felt rage but the cut was something he hadn't seen and it made him curious. His eyebrows twitched when he further looked into the wound.

The cut was something to behold and Zorro hadn't seen anything like this before, he knew that the person who did it was skilled.

Zorro's mouth twitched into a wicked smile without his control.

"If you are done, will you move?" Lady Tashigi said sitting right next to him.

As she looked further into the wound, she imagined herself having the wound and winced.

"Oh, Ethan..." she almost whispered.

"Are you crying?" 

"Get out right now!" Lady Tashigi shouted shakily. Her voice almost breaking in the end.

Zorro obeyed. He was concerned but he had to leave.
