[L E V I - P O V]

I was looking through the literature section of this blasted bookstore but I couldn't seem to find any of Shakespeare's works. I walked back to the end of the aisle and checked the index one more time to make sure I was in the correct place.

Row B - Literature

The woman at the front told me this was where I could find the books on Shakespeare.

But I saw no damn Shakespeare!

People glanced over at me, curiously, as I looked over the list in my hand again and then walking back down the aisle. I let out a frustrated sigh before running my hands through my hair. And then, I felt the air shift, and it was like the air around me was fuelled with electricity and I spun around quickly.

I looked into the most beautiful face I had ever seen. Her hair was long and brown, almost golden, her eyes matched her hair; an indescribable colour brown lighting them up. They were framed by long lashes and dark brows. Her lips were small, and plump, shaped like a bow. Her skin was a soft brown, not too light, not too dark, just enough so that it was glowing.

I lost my voice momentarily, not sure if this was a dream.

This woman was a goddess.

"Hey, did you hear what I just said?" She asked, tilting her head to the side with a frown. I immediately snapped out of my haze and looked at her with wide eyes.

"Uh.." I let out a cough before clearing my throat and attempting to speak again. "I mean, no, sorry. What were you saying?" I asked, my whole body on fire from embarrassment.

Or maybe it was just 'cause she was so close to me.

"I asked if you needed any help. You look lost." She said slowly, the frown not leaving her face. She spoke as if I was a little kid that didn't understand what was going on, and right now, that was a pretty damn accurate description.

"Uhm..yeah..uhm..fuck.." I mentally slapped myself for making such a fool of myself in front of this goddess. I glanced down at the paper in my hand and I noticed how I was shaking. She seemed to notice too and immediately she laughed.

It wasn't taunting or a condescending, but a gentle giggle.

"You're adorable." She said with a smile before plucking the paper from my hand and looking at it. I gulped as I stared at her. She glanced up at me and shot me a broader smile. "Hey! You're doing the same course as me and you have most of the same classes that I have. Cool." She said before glancing back at the paper.

This sobered me right up.

"Wait, you're going to do Language and Culture too?" I asked in surprise and she nodded without looking up from the paper.

"Yuup!" She drawled before finally looking up at me. She shot me an amused smile. "You'll only find our reading books for English Studies here. Shakespeare's works will be in the Poetry section." She said before shrugging and adding, "..for people who work in a bookstore, you would think they would place everything in the correct place. Cannot believe they thought Hamlet was a poem." She giggled before handing my list back to me.

"T-thanks." I stuttered.

"The rest of the books will be in this aisle, don't worry." She shot me a smile before turning to go. She glanced back at me over her shoulder. "Have a good first year and goodluck!" She exclaimed with a small wave before skipping off with all her books in a shopping basket, in the direction of the till.

I immediately snapped myself out of it and rushed after her.

"Hey! Wait! What's your name?!" I called to her, earning some glares from the people around me.

She glanced back over her shoulder.

"Name's Kat." She called back before completely disappearing behind the bookshelves and I felt my entire body sag with relief and disappointment.

Relief because I could finally breathe again.

And disappointment, because she was gone.
