Later that night, the Straw Hats, the two monkeys, Cricket, and I are partying basically with no end. Masira starts practically breathing fire as Usopp exclaims about the ape eating something called his "Tabasco Bomber"... whatever that is. Shoujo and the Pirate Hunter, Zoro, start a drinking competition, with Zoro as the winner. I'm just eating dinner, but I start doing cool tricks with my weapon, a Sansetsukon -or a three-sectional staff in simpler terms. (A/N: This thing ⤵)
All the while Nico Robin, the crew's archaeologist, looks at the last page of Noland's logbook.
Just then, Cricket quotes from the book, "'I SAW GOLD IN THE RIGHT EYE OF THE SKULL'." Cricket kinda explains about what Noland could've meant by the " right eye of the skull". Then everyone starts getting excited for morning to come. Cricket also explains about Noland hearing the sound of a golden bell, and everybody gets excited again. We then show the pirates the bell-shaped gold ingots that we've recovered as Nami has strange, Berry-shaped eyes going on. We also show the golden bird statue and explain what it is.
Just then, Cricket and I realize something important and exclaim, "OH NO!" Cricket then instructs the Straw Hats that they need to catch the South Bird and explains that they need it to know which way south is to find the Knock-up Stream. He tells them to stop whining, that there's no time for it, and that Masira, Shoujo, and himself will be busy fixing their ship while I help them out with the bird.
And so, the Straw Hat Pirates and I are in the pitch black forest, looking for one South Bird. They start talking about the bird's "peculiar cry," and then they hear the cry and all wonder, "What kind of queer-ass cry is that?" "No argument, there. Anyway, I've done this before to help with other people who also wanted to go to Skypiea." I tell them, "It's best if we split into teams to cover more ground." Luffy then exclaims, "NOW THEN... IT'S TIME TO KICK THIS BIRD'S ASS!" as I stated, while sweat dropping, "Umm... We're here to catch the bird alive, Luffy."
Since I felt like I knew where the South Bird usually hangs out, I teamed up with Luffy and Chopper, but mostly to keep Luffy from accidentally killing the bird. Anyway, as we're moving through the dark forest, Luffy suddenly exclaims, "CAUGHT IT! Look, Chopper! An Atlas Beetle!" as he shows it off to Chopper and me. Then, Chopper points out a stag beetle, and Luffy gets all excited as I hit the back of their heads hard with my Sansetsukon -although, it didn't look like Luffy was really phased by it- and yell at them, "YOU IDIOTS! We're trying to find the South Bird, not a stupid beetle, you two!"
Just then, we see the bird up on a tree branch as it dropped a bunch of hives and broke them, and tons of wasps start chasing us. We hear the South Bird's cry again, and Chopper tells us what it just said, "It said that it will kill anybody that dares to harm this forest...!" I was kinda impressed that Chopper can understand animals, but right now, we need to worry about our lives against the big praying mantises. "Yeah, I forgot to mention. The South Bird can command the bugs and other animals in the forest!" I tell them as poisonous Carpenter Bees start chasing us now, while dragging Luffy, who wanted to fight the bugs, away.
Soon, all eight of us regroup with no progress of catching the stupid bird. Just then, we see the South Bird on a branch close to us.
"Is he gloating at us?" one of the pirates wonders. The next thing I see with the South Bird was strange. Two arms sprouted out on the bird and made it fall down. I was somewhat shocked about what just happened, but Nico Robin then explains, mostly to me I'm guessing, "As long as I can see it... I can sprout any of my body parts anywhere."
We get back to Cricket's house to see them all beaten up and bloody, plus the house and Going Merry broken apart. A bunch of us start helping out with treating Cricket's and the monkeys' wounds. We then figured out what had happened while we were in the forest: Bellamy the Hyena came in and stole Cricket's treasure. All of a sudden, Luffy says that he'll be back to steal the stolen treasure back. Before he left, I told him, "Thanks, Luffy. I... owe you for doing this for Cricket."
