Childhood friends

I lived with my childhood friend Kou in a apartment in the city. We went to the same High school but I was in the first year and Kou was in the second year. Our daily life was about that we went together to the school and saw us at the evening again. Kou was mostly at home and did his things. I don't know what he did but he was most the time on his computer. I went after the school to the restaurant near your house and worked there as waiter. My parents lived in the town and couldn't come to the city much. Kou had just his dad. I didn't know much about his dad but I knew that he was not a friendly person. He didn't like that Kou played basketball and did music. Kou didn't care about it. He did what he wanted to do. There was a time where Kou fought with everybody. I was there and stoped him from hurting anybody. After a time he didn't fought anymore. We lived together because we want to go to the same school. But I think the main reason was because we need some time alone. Not with family, but some time with yourself. I wanted to come here to live by myself. I think Kou wanted to come here to have some free time.

One day, I went to a group date that my classmate organized. The date was in a cafe. There where girls and boys who talked with each other. Under the boys there were Kou and Kise senpai. I respected Kise senpai and his work. He drew something nice all the time and wanted to go to a art college. Kou knew that I respect Kise senpai, because I swarmed over him. Kou talked with some girl that I didn't know. I sat next to Kise senpai and talked with him all the time. When it was about the end, a girl came to me and talked with me. She gave him a paper with her name and phone number. It was 9 pm when the date ended, so I said goodbye and was about to go home. Suddenly she kissed me on the cheeks and I blushed. I was so shocked because he wouldn't do that normally. But he was drunk at that time. Kou saw it all, took my hand and pulled me to a corner. He pushed me against the wall.

Suddenly he kissed me on the lips ans said: "I Love You". He looked at me and noticed that I looked surprised.

He said with a soft voice: "I'm sorry. I got it wrong.". Then he went away and I noticed that my face became red.

The next days he behaved normally, yet I was nervous all the time. Like every Saturday we arranged to meet at the bar, but he didn't come. So I wanted to go home. Suddenly I saw Kou hugging with Arikawa. I was so jealous. I acted like I didn't see anything. I avoided him at school. After a few days Kise senpai came to me to talk with me. He suddenly hugged me, when we were talking. Kou saw it and came to us. He pulled me at my arm and took me to a empty room.

He looked at me angry ad said: "Stay away from him."

"Why should I listen to you? It doesn't have anything to do with you!" ,I answered angrily at him. He held me at my arm and looked at my eyes.

"It doesn't have to do with me?! I have feeling for you! I love you! And you say it has nothing to do with me?!", he shout to me. He looked so hurt. I noticed that my heart was pounding and my face went red. I blushed.

He hugged me and said: "I don't know anymore what I can do to make you love me." I hugged him back and stroked his hair.

I said with a soft voice: "Look at me."

"No. I look miserable.", he said with a voice that broke my heart.

"Please, Kou-chan."

I always called him Kou-chan, when we were little. I didn't call him like this for a long time ago, so he looked at me surprised. I took his hand and led it to my chest.

So he could hear my heartbeat and asked: "Kou cam you hear my heartbeat?"

He nodded and I went on: "My heart always beats, when I see you. I can't have it, when you are with someone else. When you are with someone other than me, I become jealous. I was so expressed about my reaction, that I avoided you."

When he heard my love confession, he kissed me. It was a lovely kiss that meant a lot for us.

He broke away the kiss and whispered to my ear: "I love you."

I blushed and said: "I love you too."
