Chapter 3 : Welcome at the Institute

We walked far away from the city center and stopped out of an abandoned church. Well at least it seemed like that. We got inside and everything started to change! The Institute inside was full of computers and other gadgets , there were corridors with offices and corridors with bedrooms. One of them lead to a library where we stopped so as to discuss what had just happened.
"We are Shadowhunters we protect the human world from the demon world. Every supernatural creature you know exists. Elena you are one of us!" Stephen said.
I couldn't believe this! Even though i heared that for a second time today.How could my normal and mundane life turn into this?
"I have to communicate with my parents they have to know that i am going to be late!" it was everything i could say.
"Don't worry! Now that you know they are not going to worry about you being home late." Bill said.
"Wait what exactly is happening?" Angelina asked.
"You are one of us too!" Bill said.
Angelinas face was shocked she couldn't say anything.
"Look like i said we are Shadowhunters. There are certain families that are. From us inside this room it's mine , Bills , Elenas and Angelinas! All the others you are just humans. The thing is that you know about the shadow world so you have to be protected." Stephen said.
All the girls were confused and shocked at the same time they didn't know how to react.
"So my parents know what we are? And they lied to me?" i asked angry
"Well a lot of parents like yours and Angelinas obviously do that to protect their children from all this" Bill explained "But one day your destiny will find its way and it will come to you!"
"Who was this man? What did he wanted from Elena?" Angelina asked wanted to protect me.
"Nick Paul! He is my father. Well my adoptive father. That doesn't matter we will discuss it another time! He wants to take some kind of revenge on your parents" Stephen said looking at me.
"So that was the revenge? Telling me the truth?" i said obviously annoyed
"No. He knows that your parents love you very much and that the only thing that can hurt them is your loss!" Bill said without caring how i could react. Angelina and the girls were all looking like in deep ocean trying to see something clearly that wasn't normal. From the other side i was looking my death coming! I was afraid of a human for the first time in my life. I always said that no one could ever hurt me unless i couldn't try to save myself but remembering him with a bow and arrows in his hands and other men around holding his back made me feel like a little creature with no power at all. I supposed my face was telling all these because Stephen looked at me worried for the first time.
"We won't let anything bad happen to you! I promise. I will do whatever it takes to protect you! And all of you that you know." he said.
"Well nothing more to say! So you mundanes will stay here at rooms of two or three people. Elena and Angelina are going to have their own rooms since they are going to stay here all the time. Plus the two of you are going to have training classes at the evening while you are going to continue the school at the mundane world." Bill continued
"Your trainer Elena is going to be Pete." Stephen said.
"Pete? Like we say Pete Palmer your friend?" i asked pointed at Stephen and Bill who nodded .
"He is a Shadowhunter?" Angelina asked.
"Yes he is. He and Jim Quinn" Bill said looking at Mary one of my friends.
She was such a beautiful girl with black hair and eyes! She and Jim were in a relationship for two years until he broke up with her without really giving an explanation.
"Is he here?" Mary asked a little bit sad.
"Well he lives here but now he is on a mission with Pete. They are Parabatai!" Stephen said.
"They are what?" Stephens girlfriend and my friend asked.
"It's a bond between two Shadowhunters. It is like being best friends brothers or sisters or siblings something like being closer than blood. They are one! In a battle their hearts beat as one. If one of them dies a part of the otherone is dead as well" Stephen explained to all of us who had the same question.
"Okey now that you know most of it lets get started!" Bill said positive.
