Shamaru is the guardian of the heavens. She is simply their cat. The only one that has the power to coming down to Earth and explore and have fun as she pleases, but when she encounters a man about to commit the biggest sin there is no way she will stand by and let that happen. So the best thing she does is distract him with a can of tuna and slice his neck with her claws. Poor Itachi. Wait...what! That wasn't the plot! Hmmm.
