the front door opened,

revealing a sweating, and tired jungkook.

it looked like he had ran a marathon.

the first person the youngest spotted was namjoon, who was on the couch.

"shit- um... hey, sorry hyung. i could have sworn i heard wolves or some shit in the forest so, i ran back as quick as i could" jungkook mumbled, head hanging low.

"oh my god, jungkook you're safe! what the hell were you thinking?! going into the forest alone? that's a death wish!" namjoon whisper yelled, pulling jungkook into a brotherly hug.

'a feeling tells me that namjoon isn't the killer' jungkook thought.

the two pulled away from each other as jungkook started to tear up.

"hyung, i- listen, i'm just stressed. yoongi and hobi hyung aren't here anymore and i am just losing it trying to "avenge" them. i'm sorry for accusing you. i don't think you killed them. it's just that you were acting so calm and i-"

jungkook was abruptly cut off by namjoon with another hug.

"listen here kook. we have to be very careful. seokjin-hyung, jimin, and tae are all upstairs. i am glad that you know i am not the killer but, we have to be quiet while trying to figure out which one of the three it is. i am acting calm because, i know that if i lose it, everyone else will too. as leader, it's my duty to protect the group and make sure we are okay. i failed and lost 2 of my closest friends. of course i am going through a lot but, we have to get through this together." namjoon whispered, silent tears dripping down his cheeks.

jungkook hugged his hyung tighter, crying into his shoulder.

"hyung, i'm scared. what are we going to do?" jungkook sobbed, trying to keep as quiet as possible.

"let's not think too hard about it. we just have to watch our backs kook. that's all we can do for now." namjoon whispered back, combing his finger through jungkook's scalp trying to soothe him.

both boys continued to cry until, a piercing scream was heard upstairs.

one so filled with grief and sadness.
