Towards the Light (Kingdom Hearts Fanfiction)

Chapter 1: Swallowed by Darkness

This story is based on Kingdom Hearts 1! Not Kingdom Hearts 2, CoM, Re-coded, etc.. If you hadn't played it, then It'll probably won't make sense..

Wake up, go to school, do homework, eat, and then sleep. That's all I've been doing for all my (your age) years. I always wanted to go somewhere, someplace where excitement would be held. But, I couldn't. Where would I go? I can't go by myself. How am I going to keep living?

Staring out at the window while the teacher lectures on about life and how you should live, "Being an adult is a lot more stressful than you think". I didn't really care, since she talks about non-sense. How would this help me in life? It's too boring. Sometimes I just want to go out and hang with my friends. Unfortunately for me, I changed schools often. I guess you could say I make a lot of friends, but their not best friends. The bell rung, and everyone stood, grabbed their backpacks, and out the classroom. It was lunch period, and I decided to hang out with my friends. 

I only hang out with them, I don't really talk to them.. It's sorta hard to keep up a conversation when in the end it's all, "yes" or "no". But the day ended fast, and I was able to walk home.

I slowly walked past the school gates. Staring at the other kids that are talking with their friends, standing, couples. Lucky for them, they have things to do. Well, I mean my friends do ask me if I would go with them, but I always decline. I rather play games, or draw by myself. Sad, I know, but I guess it's fun for me.

I past by the town square. Rarely anyone comes here, even though it's the town square. Probably because the shops are out of town, rather than in town. I heard a whimpering from the corner of the bell tower. I decided to look at it, and there I found a stray Pomeranian dog. I would take it home with me, but my mother is actually allergic to dogs. I bend towards the stray dog and picked it up. It licked me and bark cutely. I smiled and decided to give him some crackers I didn't eat during lunch. I placed the dog back down in the box and gave it the crackers. He slowly ate it, making it easier for me to walk away from it. If I look at his eyes, I might actually take him.

Sighing, I walked away from it as fast as I could. It was soon sunset when I arrived home. My parents were at work, leaving me to myself majority of the time. I placed my backpack down near my bed and jumped into my bed. It's great to be home. My eyes slowly drifted into a nice slumber.

        My dream was different than usual. Well, it's not like I get dreams majority of the time. But this dream felt too real. A boy with blue eyes and spiky brown hair came up to me and gave me some kind of charm. I didn't hear what he said, but apparently I nodded my head. He hugged me and I felt something wet on my shoulders.

I woke up from the dream, and my face was wet from tears. I didn't understand why, but it was most likely from the dream. I wiped it off with my hands and looked out at the window. The dark night sky with bright stars sparkling were facing the whole world. I probably only slept for an hour or 2. I was staring at the sky and saw a shooting star. "That's the 3rd one this week.." I told myself.

"(Name)! Dinner's ready!" my mom screamed from the kitchen. She came home usually around this time and didn't bother to wake me up except for food. I quickly walked over to the kitchen and ate slowly. Same daily routine. Once I finished my food, I went back to my room. I didn't have homework to do, and I couldn't find any paper to draw or books to read. So, I stared at the sky again. But this time, it was different. 

The stars were slowly fading away, and the dark night sky was darker than before. I noticed that some kind of storm was happening. "W-What the?!" It was unusual for a storm to appear, especially since it was a calm night just a while ago. I looked at where the storm was about to be placed and noticed it was going to be at the town square. It's not really my problem to check on the square, since I might get hurt. But then I remembered the dog that was nearby. I quickly jumped out of bed, put on some sneakers and jumped over my window. I know for sure that my mom won't let me outside during a storm, but I can't let a dog get sucked into it! 

I ran off into the night, almost ninja-like, towards the town square. I passed by many houses and all of the lights were out. Sleeping through a storm, good thing I slept earlier. When I reached over to the town square, I heard the familiar whimpering from the stray dog. I was about to ran over to there until something small and black appeared from the ground. It had yellow eyes and weird antennas. It was staring at me, moving his head a lot. It was starting to creep me out.

I tried moving from the side to move past through, but it followed my movement and jumped at me. I screamed and kicked it off to the side of a building. It disappeared and something bright came out of it. It was a pink heart-shaped... thing and it floated into the sky. I was staring at it until it disappeared into the storm then I remembered the dog. I quickly went over to the dog and picked it up. It licked my face, then his ears went up. He growled and then I noticed that I was surronded by the same black thing from earlier. "Oh crap.." I said to myself. 

All of the black weird monsters slowly approached me. I turned all around, hoping to find a way to escape, but they covered it up. I could see more of them appearing from the ground, staring at me with those big yellow eyes. I wasn't sure if it was staring at me, or the dog, but either way I didn't want it to get us. The wind was blowing furiously and my hair was covering my eyes, preventing me from seeing. The dog was growling even louder and then started to struggle to be free from my hold. It eventually came out and acted on it's guard to protect me. The dog started barking at the monsters, but they didn't budge. 

As they came closer and closer, the dog barked louder. Then one of them jumped towards the dog, and he whimpered. "N-NO!" I screamed. I was thinking of kicking it off like last time, but I was afraid of hitting the dog. Then the rest of the monsters jumped towards me and the dog. The dog was covered by them and was no longer see able. I tried to get out of them, but they were too heavy.

No.. Not now! I still have a lot to live for! I could only see with one of my eye and tried to reach out for some kind of hand or something to pull me out. But it was too late.

I was swallowed by darkness.
