The Winter Elf Princess

Far upon the White Mountainside,

a princess lived, in years of yore,

Fellera's line would one day pride,

her elven blood from years before.

She dwelled on the snow-laden slopes,

with her immortal folk and kin

and dreamed not of the forlorn hopes

that would come at great cost to win.

But how could she foresee the day,

that the young lord came to the mount,

and asked her if she'd come away,

far from her family and fount.

She walked alone; she walked with him,

she thought alone and wandered far,

and what they said is lost to whim,

no records tell of her word's sóchair,

But when their courting came to end,

She vowed to leave her highland glen,

and said that she would go with him,

not to return to her Mountain.

But now her love has passed away,

and far from home she can but ken,

of highland hills and fairy slae,

where she will never roam again.
