Takeru Sasazuka Ice Cream X Reader

(Y/n) Hoshino sat there at her desk, filing another report. More harassment was happening recently in addition to the X-Day incidents, and it was in her priority as a police officer to ensure the safety of her fellow citizens.

She had been staring at the monitor all day, but knew she couldn't give up as she investigated another case.

"Hey, you have off tomorrow, right?" A voice suddenly asked, gaining (Y/n)'s attention.

She jumped, looking up to see no one other than her partner, Takeru Sasazuka, right behind her chair. At first, she was nervous being partners with a male, let alone someone like Sasazuka, but she didn't have much of a choice...

"Oh, you surprised me." She giggled, still happy to see him. "Yes, I have off tomorrow. Why do you ask?"

There was silence before he spoke up. "I-I was wondering...well...if you..." (Y/n) tilted her head as he stuttered.

"W-Well..."

"Oh, never mind!!" He exclaimed.

"Wait, what's wrong?" She asked, genuinely now curious.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow afternoon, so be ready!!" He blurted out, turning around and walking out of the room, leaving her in confusion.

"Be ready for what?" (Y/n) called, but received no answer as the door slammed shut. He left as quickly as he came in...

She heard footsteps approaching and expected to see Sasazuka again, but looked up only to see her boss, Mochida, instead. "Hey, what was that all about?"

(Y/n) shook her head. "I honestly don't know. He asked if I had plans and suddenly told me he'd be picking me up tomorrow afternoon."

"Did he tell you why?"

"No..."

Mochida chuckled. "I wouldn't worry too much about it. It was probably his way of asking you out on a date~"

"A-A date!?"

He sighed. "It's so obvious he likes you, Hoshino. And with the way you've been acting, the whole office knows you like him back."

Her cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment.

"Ah, youth these days. It's getting late, so you can go home now if you'd like."

"Huh?" (Y/n) looked out the window to see it was only just turning to evening with the setting sun. "But I still have work to finish-"

"It's fine. I'll handle it. You should go and get some rest. It'd be bad if you overslept when he came to pick you up..."

"Are you sure it's okay if I leave...?" She asked, but Mochida nodded his head. "It's fine. You've been working so hard over these X-Day incidents, you can take a break."

"But-"

"No buts. You should probably hurry up before I change my mind." He chuckled jokingly. She caved in, quickly gathering all of the data into her bag and standing up. (Y/n) shut off the computer and turned to leave.

"Thank you again, Mochida."

He waved you goodbye as you left the office. You then saw Sakuragawa and also gave her a wave.

"Going home early, (Y/n)?" She asked as you nodded your head.

"Hey, if you want, we could go drinking when I get off work?" She asked with a playful grin.

"Thanks, but maybe next time." (Y/n) pretended to yawn. "I'm tired, and I think I'll just go home for the night."

She didn't mean to lie since she was still wide awake, but didn't know how to politely turn down her offer without hurting her feelings...
