"We run around like we don't care
It's gonna leave it's mark somewhere"

"They looked at each other, baffled, in love and hate."
The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, it felt like life was starting anew. That's how you would imagine it to be. In reality, it was pouring like a fresh hurricane had collided against the city. I mean it was the first day at the university and it already started to strike me as dreadful.I peeked out of the window next to my bed and immediately regretted it. Grey skies and even greyer buildings greeted me. Welcome to frostier academy. Where dreams come true and the place never sees the light of the day.
Well, at least my dorm was safe from the constant rain. The dorm was pretty big for one person. When I came in last night, the lady at the front desk gingerly told me that my roommate was running late and would arrive by today before the orientation.
Honestly, I wasn't too bothered about the orientation, we'd be given our classing schedule and the extracurriculars we would be doing so it didn't sound too much of a hassle. However, making friends. Now that's a completely different story. I wasn't antisocial by any means but I did have my fair share of doubts about my confidence level.
With these thoughts swirling in my head, I willed my limbs to drag themselves out of bed. As soon as I did, the door burst open and a girl barged in, her hair tousled and plenty of suitcases and bags in hand. "Where is he? Where is that bloody son of a gun?" She looked around frantically until her eyes widened as they landed on me. "Uh I hope you're not talking about me because I'm pretty nonviolent." I winced as I spoke hesitantly.
"Oh, and you are?" She raised her perfectly shaped eyebrow at me. She was, no doubt, gorgeous. No, no gorgeous didn't even cut it. She had a different kind of charming face and although her entire outfit was black, her colourful makeup was enough to cover for it. "I'm the one that owns this dorm? And obviously my roommate who apparently is running late." I replied with a steady voice this time.
"You're my roommate?"She asked startled. A tinge of disappointment could be detected in her tone.
"Is that a problem?" I asked in an accusatory voice. She started waving her hands in order to placate the situation. "Oh no no, it's just that, uh my other friend, who I came with, was supposed to be here, he'll be taking the dorm across ours."
I wondered if she was talking about a guy or a girl because the dorms building was combined and wasn't segregated. "Well I didn't see anyone, I've been here since yesterday night." I informed her with a little smile.
She started unraveling her suitcases on the floor while I just stared at her long black hair cloaking her face. What a creep I am. She looked up, moving her hair to the other side. "So what's your name?"
