Derek woke up, his head pounding, and found out that he was tied next to his brother on another chair.
Both men were gagged, and they looked at each other helplessly. Laughter came from the shadows then and a man stepped forward. Both brothers went pale.
"Surprised?" Matt laughed as he walked into the lamplight, his gun pointed at the brothers.
"I know, your trusted foreman. I've gone over the deep end. It's too bad really, I liked you guys, but when I found out that I could make even more money by smuggling drugs, I decided it was worth it, no one would suspect me, and it's too bad that Rob is inside killing Anna, I really liked her too," he shrugged. "But she liked you too much Derek, and we couldn't have that now, could we."
The brothers went pale. Derek knew he shouldn't have trusted Rob, now Anna was dead, all because of him. Derek struggled against his bonds, wanting to kill Matt with his bare hands. Matt only laughed.
"You can't get away Derek, as a matter of fact, as soon as Rob gets here with the gasoline, I will dispose of you," he laughed evilly.
Camden met Anna out back of the house. "Tell me what's going on?" he asked.
"Rob just came in the house and tried to kill me. He said that Matt was going to burn down the barn with Derek and Darryl inside."
"Damn, what's the plan?"
She told him. He nodded and agreed, but then made her put on a vest in case she was shot by Matt, which hopefully wouldn't happen.
Moments later, hoping she would be convincing, Anna turned on a flashlight Camden had given her and shone it at the barn. She wanted Matt to think it was Rob.
"That you Rob?" yelled Matt.
"Yep," came the response.
Derek and Darryl looked at each other in shock. Anna was dead.
Matt grinned.
"Well, I guess your girl is dead."
The barn door opened and a figure slipped inside.
"So, she's dead?" Matt asked.
"Yeah," Anna grumbled, "the girl is dead."
"What's wrong with your voice?" Matt asked.
"She kicked me in the throat, but I let her have it," she chuckled.
Derek struggled against his bonds, seeing red. He was very, very angry. If he got loose he would torture Rob until he was dead.
"You got the gasoline?" Matt asked.
"Yeah."
"Well, let me have it. I will pour some around these two, then around the outside."
"Okay man, but we had better hurry, I think I saw that FBI guy snooping around."
"Good idea, throw it to me," Matt said.
"Okay," Anna chuckled.
The two brothers watched in amazement then as a gas can came flying through the air to peg Matt in the head. He stumbled forward, but he was suddenly grabbed from the shadows, the person yanking him back, as a gun was placed to his head. Derek and Darryl looked at each other in amazement. Rob had turned on Matt.
"Drop your gun," a menacing voice told Matt. Matt dropped his gun, and a foot kicked it into the shadows.
"Why are you doing this Rob? I paid you good money," Matt choked out.
