"Oh my god! I can't believe it!" I practically died right there. This was the best day of my life.

I had recently finished filming my new action/thriller movie, Edge, directed by the one and only JJ Abrams. I was really content about the final result but I never expected this.

"The Oscars are in 5 weeks from now. You'll have to do a few talk shows before then. Making sure the buzz about you never stops is key to winning an award. Honestly, this is great timing, with your album coming out." Emma kept talking, but I'd stopped listening after she announced I was nominated for Best Actress.

"I'm proud of you. Good work, honey!" Emma told me. "Go celebrate. You deserve a night off." My publicist added before hanging up.

I could already see myself wearing a long gown, flowing down the red carpet, cameras flashing and clutching an Oscar- my Oscar.

I couldn't wait to tell Kayla, my best friend. I was about to call, when I opted against it. Why not just surprise her in person? I had the afternoon off after all.

I decided to call a cab instead of my private driver. There was no need for fancy transportation.

The cab showed up a few minutes later. I hopped in, keeping my head down.

"Where to?" The driver asks.

I give him the address and check my messages while he drives. I received 4 from my manager and 3 from my parents. I sighed. I was hoping for a message from Hunter, my boyfriend. Guess he's still on set.

I look out at Los Angeles through the window of the car. The bright day matches my mood. Nothing could bring me down from my blissful bubble.

Or so I thought.
