"so you are just going to quit, after all your hard work, you just give up, just like that."
"How can you say that, I am not quiting."
"Yes you are alex, you are quitting becuase that is what you do when things get hard, you walk away. You know what, you are a just like your mother"
My eyes darkened at Jake, "I am nothing like my mother" I stated in a deadly tone. I turned around abruptly and began walking away.
"Alex!" Jake yells my name. I stop but I don't turn around. "For someone who claims to be nothing like her mother, you sure act like it. Face it, you are exactly like your mother.
"No" but this time my voice is barily above a whisper.
All of the sudden Jake's strong arms wrap around me and he whispers in my ear, "then prove it to me." He turns me aound so that now I am facing him with his arms around my waist. "Prove me wrong alex."
"I will" I say this with determination in my voice. I would prove Jake wrong, then I can show everyone that I do not give up so easily. Bring it on world!
