When the empress became pregnant with her first child the capital was thrilled, many hoped that the baby would have the blue eyes of a pure lineage. The time of the birth came, the capital breaths were held eager for a glimpse of the baby. For it wasn't every day that an empress birthed a child with a chieftain father. Yet they never saw the baby, when it was announced that a prince had been born everyone was happy. He would be the first Ezra to have been born since the emperor himself, but their happiness was short-lived.
The babies father was executed the same day for attempting to steal his son, confusion rilled through the people. For Zathris wasn't the kind of chief to steal children, with his execution came consequences the people of Ecarro would suffer with for the next twenty-four years, war.
Ecarro was at war with the tribes of Xulroth, for the actions Yenafra's father took against his daughters' consort. When the execution happened media images of a baby boy with the mark of an outcast began circulating, the commander's son was marked outcast. Yet the decorated and respected man had rumors begin to flow that the baby was from a whore, a woman who was made outcast for ruining a married man's life. His wife loved the boy which confused everyone, even more, slowly it became a normal thing for the outcast son of the commander.
It wasn't long before the outcast was forgotten and hype for the prince was increased, it was the first time he was seen since his father was executed.
