Matching Tattoos

Nico leaned against his chair and sighed. It had been a long day, and his back hurt from leaning over and drawing all day. You see, Nico was a tattoo artist. He wasn't covered with tattoos, but he did have quite a few. He had a skull on his ankle, a vine on his arm, his sisters name on his wrist, and a small heart just below his collar bone. He had messy black hair and pale skin, making his colored tattoos pop.

He felt his skin tingle, and looked down to see a note being drawn on his forearm. It said 'gay and proud' with a heart underneath. Nico grinned. His soulmate was probably going to a pride march. His head suddenly shot up. He didn't have a pride tattoo!

Nico grabbed his pen and started sketching a flag on a piece of paper. He finally made one he liked, and added a cursive 'gay and proud' underneath.

He pondered for a moment where he should put it. Then he chuckled. Of course! Right where he got the idea. He quickly added the ink stencil on, and meticulously outlined his drawing.

After he was finished with the outline of the flag, he added gold ink to the 'gay and proud'. Then, he colored the flag in. Wiping away the extra ink, he looked at the newest addition with pride. (pun not intended).
Nico went to bed, excited for the pride march he was going to tomorrow. He hoped his soulmate liked tattoos.

Will grinned as he wrote 'gay and proud' on his arm. For good measure, he added a heart. Smiling down at his work, he covered it with plastic to save it for tomorrow. As he lay down, he felt a tingling in his arm. He waited for the sensation to stop, but it took almost an hour. His soulmate must be getting another tattoo.

After it ended, Will looked down at his arm. He was excited to find a beautiful tattoo there. It was a pride flag, whipping around in the wind, with the words 'gay and proud' underneath it, written in gold cursive.
He rubbed away his writing, which was just Sharpie, and went to sleep. He couldn't wait for the pride march.

Will woke up that morning and jumped out of bed. He quickly got ready, pulling on a shirt that read: Love Wins

He scarfed down some cereal, grabbed his back pack, and got in the car.

Parking near the closed off portions of the streets, he looked down at his arm. He grinned happily at the new soulmate tattoo, and got out of the car. He ran to meet up with his friends, Kayla and Lou Ellen. (not accurate representations of these characters at all) Kayla wore a pan flag shirt and had her long brown hair in a ponytail. Lou Ellen had an ace flag on her hat, and had a shirt on that said, 'I exist. Deal'

Will greeted them, and Kayla noticed his new tattoo. "Ooh, Will! Did you get a tattoo?"

Will shook his head. "No. Bianca did." He had started calling his soulmate that ever since the Bianca tattoo had shown up on his wrist.
Kayla nodded, and dragged him towards the street.

Nico woke groggily, but forced himself out of bed. He wanted to go the pride march. He rubbed his eyes as he grabbed a shirt. It had to be gay, but it didn't need to be happy. It said:
'I am useless and gay'

Nico grabbed a bag of chips and a water bottle, threw them in his bag, and walked out the door.

Once he was at the march, he remembered why he didn't like going outside. The street was filled with people, all very close to each other. Nico suddenly felt very uncomfortable, and retreated to a shadowy corner of the sidewalk.

He felt his arm tingle, and looked down, but nothing new was being added. Did this mean he was close to Solace? He had called his soulmate that ever since he had scribbled it the back of his hand.

Will felt his new tattoo tingle, and he looked down, confused, but nothing was being added on his arm. Was he close to Bianca? Or just imagining things?
