It happened in a battle. Obviously. Will was running around, using his super-sonic whistle and slashing at monsters with his sword. Nico was a few yards away. Close enough so they could talk to each other and see each other. It was comforting, at least as comforting as something can be in battle.

The Romans and the Greeks had long since formed a military alliance. There were messy fighters, shouting curse words in Greek at the monsters, side by side with legions of Romans in polished armor. It was slightly reminiscent of the war with Gaia.

Nico was in the process of stabbing a monster when he heard a cry of pain. He whipped around as the monster turned to dust behind him, and saw his Will falling. He ran and caught him. He slowly carried him away from the fight and lay him down. Behind them, the battle was coming to an end. The last monsters were fleeing, and the Greeks were roaring in victory. Nico didn't here them. All he heard were the labored breaths of Will. He had a stab wound in his stomach and the blood was sleeping through his shirt.

Nico cradled Wills head in his lap. He felt tears well in his eyes, but for once he didn't care about what other people thought. He started to softly sing.

"You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy when sky's are gray," Nico felt his voice breaking as he held back sobs. "You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." Others were gathering around him now, but he didn't care. All that mattered was that Will needed him.

"The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping. I dreamed I held you in my arms. When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken. And I hung my head and cried." He could feel warm tears flowing down his face. Nico gripped Wills hand and kept singing. It was the only thing keeping him from breaking. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when sky's are gray. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." Nico felt Wills grip loosen and watched as he took his last breath. His voice was barely a whisper now. "Please don't take my sunshine away." He bent his head over the body of his sunshine, and sobbed

It was hours before anyone could pull Nico away from the body, even with Pipers charmspeak. Nico stayed in his cabin, staring with empty eyes at the opposite wall. He wouldn't cry. He was too broken to cry. His heart was already shattered. He wouldn't leave. He wouldn't eat. He wouldn't drink. For days he just sat and stared. He grew thin and weak. He didn't care. Nothing mattered now that his sunshine was gone.

One day, a week after Will died, Jason walked into the cabin to try and make Nico eat. What he found was a body. All Nico was was skin and bone. His eyes were sunken, his hair was lank, and his heart had stopped beating. Jason carried his friends body out of the cabin, crying. But somewhere deep down, everyone was relieved when they heard that Nico was gone. Because now he was with Will. He was with his sunshine.

Hello my stars! I'm sorry for the overwhelming angst and sadeness. I had an idea, and I needed to post SOMETHING. Also, I have weird ideas at 2 am. I take requests and I love you all. Bye!
