Chapter one

I sat there, breathing in and out in perfect rythm. I was not aware of what time it was, but i was tired so it must of been late. I sat staring blankly on skype at the offline icon of my best friend Niall Horan. Yes, you heard correctly.. I am best friends with one member of the famous british boy band one direction.

Well more or less, you see i havn't really seen Niall since they released their first album Up All Night, and they are already just about to release their second album. Yep, its been a while. Do i still consider him as my bestfriend? Of course i do, we have known eachother since we were in primary school and were inseparable straight away. No matter what i would always be there for him, fame or no fame. Did he still consider me being his best friend? I shuddered at the thought of Niall forgetting who i was and our friendship.

I jumped quite high at the buzz of phone. Quickly escaping my thoughts, i realised it could be Niall and struggled to quickly unlock my iphone.

Hayy gurl ! You better be getting to sleep soon, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, remember.. your 18TH BIRTHDAY!!! :D :D see you tomorrow bestie, love ya xx

I sighed out loud. I loved Emily, she has been my bestfriend since the start of highschool. She was crazy, bubbly and one of the prettiest girls i know. She always attracted most of the guys attention, with her long straight brown hair and dark brown eyes. But she would never replace Niall, no one could ever replace Niall.

This would be the second birthday in a row Niall has missed. I was turning 18 tomorrow ! And no, not one single text or tweet from my so called bestie. Did he even remember my birthday?

I felt the teardrops start to well in my eyes. No, stop this natasha. Don't cry, he will call or atleast text. I hate thinking about Niall, i really did miss him. I know he's all famous now, but he was the one i would talk to about everything. I replied hesitantly to Emily before locking eyes back with the dim light of the laptop. I rubbed at my eyes roughly, okay so maybe staying up late knowing you have to be up early isn't the greatest idea.

Well, maybe he's just too busy. I hesistated for a moment before shutting down my laptop and placing it on my bedside table. "He will call, he never forgets." I softly said out loud to myself, i didn't want to disturb my parents or my little brother in the other rooms. And with that, i let sleepiness overtake me, and enter me into a world of dream...back when me and Niall would run around all day and play music and dance randomly. That was back where i wanted to go.

"Natasha, wake up dear. We have a surprise." I faintly hear the sickly sweet voice of my mother.

"Whaaaaaattt?" I groaned out. Seriously, it's my birthday i should be able to sleep in to whenever i want.

"Well for one, you're 18 you can now legally how a drink...which you will not be doing i hope." I hear my dad say chuckling.

"It's not just that, we have someone here to wish you a happy birthday." My mum calmly said. This was all just too annoying, i just wanted to sleep. Niall did not text or call me last night and i was starting to feel forgotten. Not the best start to my birthday.

"If it's Emily tell her i said i would meet her at the mall." I almost whisper. That's when i heard a different voice. His voice.

"What's this about Emily, i thought we always did something together on your birthday Tash."

Only one person on this whole planet earth called me Tash. I shoot up instantly, not even caring what i look like. I must be dreaming, he is not here. Standing in my room with the rest of my family, after over a year of not seeing his perfect smile or hearing his beautiful laugh besides on Skype or the phone.

"NIALL?!" I manage to gasp out.
