The bus ride finally ended, I stepped out of the bus with my siblings and Gemma. We looked around, the warm colored leaves covered the pavements of the school leaving no trace of grey behind (why aren't they raking these leaves yet?!). Making it perfect for pictures and good memories. Like always, the school was still empty, we were always the earliest people in school.

Suddenly, Gemma bolted into the school excited. She flung the door open to be greeted by a no running in the halls sign. We followed her, Eliza just stared at us from afar. Her stare broke my focus, bad memories came pouring into my head. It felt terrible, I turned my head back to where I'm going as I tried to forget all of it. Panting and gasping for air, we finally arrived the to the gymnasium. We rushed to find good seats and chatted with each other for hours.

After a while almost everyone entered the room. The principal walks onto the stage and started her speech.

"Welcome to Pine Lake!"

The principal continued with her long speech. Her inspiring stories never failed to make me feel better, she felt like a second mother figure to me. After the long speech, the principal introduced all the teachers and the new addition to the school's staff.

The new teacher walked in, I looked at his slightly ruffled hair and thick jacket. I could tell that he's a fresh graduate, this must be his first time teaching.

"Wow... he's also a theater teacher" Darlene whispered to my ear blushing, looking at the new teacher. Darlene finally had a crush after all of these years and I hope she doesn't screw things up.

Everyone left the gym and went to their classrooms. My siblings and I were able to find a seat beside each other but suddenly, our teacher entered the room and assigned new seats.

"Welcome to Science Class students" Ms. May said as she set her stuff on the table. "I'm Ms. May and I'll be your teacher for this period" She added in, I looked at her usual get up. She aways had her hair in a bun and wore round cute glasses. After three years of teaching, she never thought of changing her look. But, at least it fits her.

She sets her projector then her laptop "Since all of you are in high school now you should start getting used to jotting down some notes" The presentation starts with flashy animation. She always adds extra effort to her first period presentations and gives a blank screen in her last period presentations.

"Kindly open your textbook to page 3."
The lesson finally starts. Ms. May sits and opens her laptop.  Everyone started jotting down notes from the PowerPoint presentation. I got confused so I tried writing everything in the slide that I probably didn't copy some important stuff.

"And that's how we do a Scientific Investigation." The lesson finally ended, Ms. May gathers all of her stuff and leaves the room. After class, we had a little break outside the school. I sat beside my siblings and chatted with them.

"Did you get some notes?" Tristan asked, looking at his messy notes. Some words were putted at the very top of his book and some words were squeezed to fit the notebook. His handwriting looked terrible, it's like he let a kid in 1st grade do his work.

"Yep" I replied as I lend him my notebook. I felt bad for him as he always got low scores in on the spot performance tasks. He could've at least make his writing a bit more legible. At least they always say that smart people have messy writing.

"You write so fast..." Darlene looked at my notebook with shock as I almost wrote down everything awhile ago.

"I'm still new to this note taking thing" I replied "Where's Gemma by the way?" I looked side to side looking for her.

I see her at the other side making new friends. "Nice... She's already making friends at the first day..." I looked at her laughing with a group of girls with 'ELIZA?! Ok just calm down Oliver Gemma's smart enough to not believe in her lies RIGHT?!' I panicked in the inside as sweat poured down my forehead. It looked weird, I was still sweating even if it's pretty cold.

"You okay?" Tristan nudged me with a worried look on his face. Being overly concerned like he always is he asks me "What's bothering you?"

"D-don't worry, I'm f-fine..." I stuttered a bit, feeling paranoid on how deceiving Eliza is. She almost took away my only friend last year. It was humiliating.

"Lemme guess, It's Eliza with Gemma right?"He said looking at them both. He rolled his eyes and said "Bro, don't worry. Eliza probably ch-" His sentence was interrupted by the loud bell.

RIIIIIIIIIIIING

Everyone entered their classrooms. As my siblings and I entered the classroom we saw the new teacher. He sipped his coffee and stood up.

"Hello everyone and I'm Mr. Morozov" The new teacher said as he wrote his name in the whiteboard. "I'll be your history teacher for this school and the new Theater club moderator" he adds in. He sipped his cup of coffee again and looked at his new class.

"So today we'll be learning about Greek Mythology, turn your textbooks to page 4"

A crumbled piece of paper flew to my head and hit me lightly, I open it and read the note while the new teacher was writing on the board.

I hid the note quickly under my textbook and took notes. The teacher glanced at me suspiciously and continued writing.

'What does she want to show me now?' I thought, I glanced at Caren as she took notes at the back. I even noticed that she's now taller than me. Oh no...

3PM

The first day was nearly ending, I ran to the garden to find Caren jumping on the leaves. Making a loud crunching sound.

"Ollie! You came!" She ran to me and grabbed my hand.

"Where are you taking me?" I followed her, looking at her excited face.

"You'll see!" She exclaimed, her strawberry blonde hair followed her as she ran to the garden.
