A Beginning To An End

February

The brunette sat down on the couch in her dressing room with tears welling in her eyes after she had wandered off from her friends. Her emotions seemed to be stacking against her in her current condition. She also couldn’t help but think of what happened a month ago. What rocked her world and changed the way she looked at things. Stephanie didn't bother wiping the tears as they finally broke free and ran down her cheeks. There was no way she could stop them now.

Teal and Micaela had immediately noticed Stephanie leave and they were concerned. They knew were had she had gone. No one had expected her to keep doing shows after what had happened, but she did and they had found her many times in the same location, doing the same thing. They opened her dressing room door and found her sitting on the couch. They sat down next to her, both bringing her in for a hug. Teal spoke softly, in a comforting tone, "Steph, it's been a month since the accident, he would want you to stop crying. Sebastian would want to stop crying." 

Stephanie's tears kept flowing as Micaela chimed in, "He would want you to be strong for Vivi. You two were his world, he loved you both so much." A small smile appeared on her lips through her tears, hearing what both of her friends had said. She spoke, "I know." Then Teal said, "As nice as it would be, we can't change what happened. We can't change that, that man decided to get behind the wheel while drunk and turned left when he wasn't supposed to."

Teal could sense that something else was causing Stephanie's tears. She lightly placed her hand on her shoulder and spoke, "Hey, what's the real reason that you're crying? There is something else weighing on your mind." 

She lightly shrugged her shoulders, and said, "I'm very hormonal lately."

Confused, Micaela spoke, "What do you mean?"

Stephanie spoke just above a whisper, "I'm pregnant."

Micaela was processing what she had said as Teal started to speak, "What are you going to do?"

Immediately regretting wording what she said like that, she said, "It's Sebastian's, isn’t it?"

Stephanie nodded slowly, wiping the few tears that had still been going down her cheeks. She moved her hand down towards her stomach before resting it there. She said, "Besides Vivi, this baby is the last connection that I'll ever have with Sebastian."

Both of them brought her in for a hug again when Teal said, "We're going to be there for everything, and help with whatever you may need."

Stephanie smiled before Micaela spoke, “We’ll go with you to every appointment if you want us too."

Stephanie smiled, "As much as I appreciate that, you don't have to go to every appointment with me, I'm just fine going by myself. I don't want to hold you two back from your lives."

Teal shook her head, "You could never hold us back. We want to do this with you. That's what friends are for Steph and that’s never going to change."

Stephanie smiled once more, this time not saying a word as she brought both of them in for another hug, her tears finally dried. She didn’t know what this pregnancy would hold, but she did know that she was going to have her friends by her side.
