Sarah stood in front the door, hesitantly raising her shaking hand up and then down. Right when she was ready to knock, the door opened revealing a short, elder lady with a big smile.
"Welcome home, Sarah!" She was brought into a tight hug and could smell the faint coffee on the lady's clothing.
Sarah looked around the living room as numerous strangers stared back with lively, happy eyes.
A younger man leaned towards her with distant eyes unlike the others causing the girl to flinch. "You really don't remember us?"
The elder woman swatted him away. "Stop giving her a hard time, Andrew. She's lucky enough to have even lived after the horrible accident!"
The man said to pretend she has amnesia. She was in a car accident at night and supposedly everyone died, but her due to her miraculous recovery.
"Alright, alright everyone. I prepared a meal for Sarah's welcoming, let's eat." The older woman eagered everyone into the dining, but Sarah stood as stiff as a board still by the door. The only person in the room left was Andrew.
His narrowed eyes never left her as he walked over. The two stood so close their nose would touch as Sarah looked up and Andrew looked down at her. "You're not Sarah."
Sarah's heartbeat started to pound in a panic as she quickly looked down in shame and guilt. How does he know? What will happen?
"Now what are you doing, Andrew? Leave your sister alone and let her eat, she must be starving!" The lady peaked her head in the room and scolded.
Andrew gave Sarah one last menacing look and stomped off. The woman grabbed her shaking hand and whispered in a gentle tone only her and Sarah could hear. "I'm sorry if he scared you. You gave him a scare when he heard you were in the hospital, he's just mad at the whole situation itself, not you."
The woman stared into Sarah's scared ones with warm eyes as a friendly grin painted her face. "Now come eat, dear."
Sarah nodded and let the woman lead her into the dining room as people shouted, "There's are little Sarah!"
