(M!Orc)Urul x (F!Altmer)Reader
(Angst, suicide)
A seemingly unrequited love is revealed in the most painful of ways...
Word Count:452

It had been days since Urul had heard from you. You had what seemed to be a great night hanging out with him and his newest fling, but then you just fell off the face of the earth. He was worried sick, so he naturally went to check on you.

To whom it may concern,
I don't know what to say. What can you say in one of these things? I'm sorry, for starters. I'm sorry I can't handle it anymore. It just hurts too much. I'm sorry.

Urul took the stairs two at a time, coming to your door quickly. A strong knock echoed through your home, along with his voice calling your name." (Y/n)!? You alright?" He called, waiting for a moment before knocking again." (Y/n)? Are you home?" He called again.

I don't have much. My house is pretty bare. Not very many friends either. I can only think of one person who will read this. Urul, I'm really sorry. I don't want to leave you alone, but I really can't go on anymore. You understand right? I hope you'll be ok.

Urul tried the knob with it turning easily. He was shocked, you never leave the door unlocked." (Y/n)? Where are you?" He called, stepping into your home and surveying its wrecked state.

Who am I kidding, you won't understand... I never told you.

Walking upstairs and to your room, he kept calling for you gently." (Y/n), if you were having an emotional time you just needed to—"

I should have. I should have told you how much I love you. How badly I've always wanted to be with you. I almost did.

"(Y/N)!" He rushed into your room, scooping you up off of the ground. Just to your side was your note, and an empty bottle of pills. Prescription, to help you sleep. He rushed to call 911, barely being able to tell them what was wrong.

On Friday, I was all geared up and ready to tell you. But you seemed so happy with Amy, I couldn't ruin that. I was too scared.

The ambulance arrived quickly enough, rushing you to the hospital in critical condition. Urul was just a step behind.

I've loved you for a very long time. Since we were kids, actually. I've always been too scared though. I didn't want you to hate me.

It took hours, but you were eventually stable enough to be put in a room. Urul sat in the dark, clutching your note. His face was sorrowful as the machines plucked on. The doctors weren't hopeful.

I almost called. I almost told you. I almost believed there could be something between us.

"Almost."
