I lay in my bed, awake, doing nothing. He is yelling at her for not giving him enough money to buy beer. Then it is quiet. I hear the creaks of the stairs, it is him since it is to loud to be her. He opens my bedroom door. My eyes are closed and my mouth is slightly open trying to make him believe that I am asleep. But the truth is I have not slept in 3 days. I can see his shadow coming closer towards me through my eye lids.

He sits on my bed that is not really my bed but my twin brother's old bed. His body is touching my right leg through my sleeping clothes and blanket. His hand goes to my hand, then up my arm until it climbs to my hair wear he lightly strokes it until he stops and suddenly he is pulling me by my hair out of my bed.

"Get up you bitch! I know you have money! Where is it?"

The pain is awful but I don't say anything. I keep repeating in my head: Don't tell him the money is in the dresser! He gets even more angry and slams me on the ground.

Alex, help, please help I try to calling my twin but nothing comes out of my mouth. He throws me on to the floor. The pain is horrible. My sight is getting darker and darker until everything is black.

Next thing I know I'm woken by the light outside my window. My back hurts probably from sleeping on the floor or blacking out but whatever. I stretch and my joints make a satisfying crack.

I get off the floor and go to my bathroom. I can't help looking in the mirror and staring at this girl that kind of looks like me but is not me.

Her hair blonde, curly, and goes all the way down her waist. Her skin is scarily pale with bruises covering her body. Their is dark blue circles around her cold, soulless brown eyes. This girl looks scarier than my worst nightmares. She couldn't possibly me, could she?

I stop looking at the girl. She is nothing to me. I strip and take a hot shower.

I scrub my long hair with shampoo until it hurts and stay in the shower until my skin is completely red from the hot water.

When I am drying my red skin I suddenly hear my twin brother yell "Aurora, there are other people in this house that need to use the bathroom besides you, you know!"

I quickly towel dry my hair before wrapping it around my frale body and open the bathroom door. Outside the door Alex awaits for me to get out. I look at him but his eyes are looking at the other direction. "It's about damn time." He mumbles and goes inside the bathroom and slams the door.

I walk down to the hall until i reach a white door with a piece of paper with the words "Ar's Room". I remember I made that when I was in 6th grade. Things were so much more simple and clear back then.

I turn the metal knob and walk in. I have bean bags with turquoise and white all over them and two of my walls are of the picture starry night and the other two of white. I have a plain turquoise bed.

I go to my closet and open it up. I grab my under things and a pair of bleached blue jeans and a green shirt. I put my clothes on and grab my hair and french braid it. I grab my white coat that has real rabbit fur on it and but it on.

I go down my stairs where my mother and her boy toy at the time are eating eggs and bacon with toast.

My mother looks alot like I do. Blonde hair and pale skin but she prominent blue eyes and her skin is healthy. Her man is looking at me, I can feel his stare but I don't look at him. I keep my eyes glued to my mother not giving him the satisfactory of having me look at him.

"How was your sleep, sweetheart?" My mother asks me but now I'm not looking at her but at the hand that is on her thigh.

I shrug

"Your brother just got back from his friend Josh's house. He is also getting a ride with him and wanted me to ask if you wanted a ride too."

I shake my head no and start walking to the door. When I was almost there I heard the man say "Is there someting wrong with her?" He asked not so secretly to my mother but before she could answer him I quickly go to the door and and open it. I ran through the door and slammed it.

My house was 17 blocks away from my school and so I started to walk my journey to hell.
