Chapter 1
A life saving attempt.
Video log number. 2037
If you are watching this, it means I either didn't make the journey or I didn't survive it. The way things are going now it'll probably be the former. The electricity supply has been intermittent since the last of the generators went dark. I don't know how long the backup power reserves are going to last, or if it will be enough to get me where I need to go. Which is why, as a precaution, I've been making video logs; sending each one to a different date in time. I have no means of knowing whether my attempts have been successful, so until something drastically changes for the better, I'm going to assume that it has failed. My name is Eva, and I could be the only human survivor left on the planet.

It's been exactly 3 years to the day since our planet was lost; overtaken by radiation, acid rain, scorching UV-rays and smothering ash, forcing those who were bright enough to see the end coming, underground. I've had no communication from the outside world since. Minutes after my father sealed us in, everything went quiet. For years while my father worked on his wormhole theory, while my mother monitored the climate outside I, in turn tirelessly searched the airwaves for any survivors, no one has responded though.I'm alone now; my parents have long since passed, which makes this so much harder. There have been times I've come near to giving up myself, but I could never go through with it. Not when my father's research was so near completion. I promised him before he died that I'd stabilize the wormhole enough to allow one person to cross, and by God I think I just might have done it. It would be a one way ticket though, that's if the power holds steady.
At first, I only sent my video logs through, trusting that they would reach the right people in time for all this to be avoided, but as time went on it became clear that none of the other 2036 logs had succeeded in their purpose; it's still bad out there and getting worse by the second. The only thing left to do is cross over myself. I don't know if I'll make it, but I do know if I stay I'll surely die; whether it be from heat, radiation or suicide. I'm no longer safe here. Guess I should start my story at the beginning.
