The One From The Sea

Chapter 1: From below the surface

                     Every fairy tale starts with a 'Once a upon a time' but, this isn't a fairy tale this is my story of a mermaid searching for something new. A new start, a new life, a new love. And this mermaid is me, my name's Blue yeah it's not that unique but, I like as it reminds me of my home the deep blue sea. Unlike in fairy tales mermaids do as they please but, we do have two rules and rule one is to never be seen by those on the surface. We can go to the surface but, we can't be seen as we don't want to get caught and who knows what could happen. Rule number two is to stay away from the sirens, fairy tales and myths make it seem like mermaids and sirens are one of the same but, that's not true not in the slightest. Sirens are evil disgusting creatures who lead those lost at sea towards their death with their beautiful voices, they may seem beautiful without compare at first but, once they show their true forms they're disgusting with their tar, rough, skeleton like scales, sharp claws, two rows of sharp teeth, dark eyes, and decaying tail that leaves off a terrible smell of death. If you go near them before you know it you've become one of them some say it's a fate worse than death.Many that don't listen to this warning meet a terrible fate and no merfolk have every come back to tell the tale. I'm the daughter of the king of the sea, King Trident a ruthless ruler that shows no mercy to his enemies and to those who are unlucky enough to meet him on a bad day. I'm his 11th child meaning I'm 11th in line for the throne, which also makes me the youngest. Yeah I have 10 siblings all due to my father's constant affairs, the man can't seem to stay with one mermaid. "Blue! Father needs to see you!" I hear a voice yelling out for me, that was Ruby the eldest of all of us, the first child of the King and Queen. A beautiful mermaid with ruby eyes, fiery red hair, smooth tan skill and sliver scales blinding as the sun on her tail; not only is she beautiful but extremely smart if you had a problem she was your go to mermaid. "I'm coming!" I yell back. I quickly head out of my room meeting up with Ruby who was waiting down the hall "About time, you know how he gets" "I know I'm sorry I was doing something" "Well come on" she says heading toward the throne room with me close behind her "What do you think father needs to see me for?" "It's not just you, it's all of us and whatever it is I don't like it, I have a strange feeling about this" I looked at her with a worried expression 'Now I don't like this' I thought to myself as we reached the throne room. Me and Ruby open the door to the throne room seeing the rest of our siblings there already and to our grace father wasn't there yet, me and Ruby would've heard a mouth load of things that really shouldn't be said. "Jun!" I yelled rushing over him, Jun's the second eldest a tall lean merman with blue-green eyes, a fiery blue hair, beige skin, and the same sliver scales as Ruby, due to Ruby's beauty and Jun's charms they were always receiving suits. "Hey, there little one! How've you been?" He said petting the top of my head "Jun I'm 18 now I'm not little anymore!" "Sure you're not" he said chuckling as my child like remark "Hey Jun what do you think father needs to see us for?" "I'm not sure to be honest I got pulled from duty today being told that father had to see us, I asked what for but got nothing" Jun's a general for the royal army and safe to say he was really good at his job "I don't like this" Ruby said coming over to my side "You think he's up to something?" "Yeah and whatever it might be it's not going to be good" "So paranoid" Yoona said swimming over to us landing next to Jun "I'm sure this is just another lame announcement for another dinner or party that he's going to throw" Yoona is the first child of our father's affair with one of the maid but, that didn't stop the Queen from taking her in after her mother abandoned her. Yoona was more cute than beautiful with her sliver eyes, black hair, pale-ish skin, soft freckles sprinkled on her nose, and a copper colored tail. She hated her freckles, but I always found them really cute "He pulled Jun from duty, if this was just another of his parties he wouldn't have pulled him out." "All I'm saying is don't just jump to conclusions and stay calm, cause you might freak some merfolk out" She lowed her voice at the end pointing at Marin who was talking to the rest of our siblings. Okay before I go on with our story let me introduce the rest of my siblings just to save up on time, soooo...Let's start! :
