This was it. This, was her fate. She felt her breath quickening as she got closer to the front of the line and when her number was called she had to dig her nails into her palms, her breath becoming nonexistent. She waited, just those few seconds felt like hours, her eyes tearing up... She couldn't take a no, she couldn't handle anything less than one captain. It was all she was asking for... Time was running out. The muscles in Violet's legs were beginning to give out, the smallest feeling of blood running down her hands was apparent but not something she focused on too much, she needed this... After Asta had got into the Black Bulls, after Yuno had picked the Golden Dawn, she couldn't be rejected like this. She had to be worth something...
"No-!" The man was cut off unexpectedly as Violet let out the smallest barely audible gasp. First one hand, then another, then another, and one more after that, four captains wanted her? How? Why? Her weight shifted visibly from foot to foot as she felt a sense of both anxiety and joy inside of her chest.
Charlotte Roselei, the first to raise her hand, stared at her unexpectedly, the captain after her, Fuegoleon Vermillion, had a very calm and unreadable expression. After him, Yami Sukehiro, and the last one was Jack the Ripper. Violet felt time stop, she stared as she had to make her choice. She thought of everything she had been through, thought of what could even just possibly work.
Her eyes watered. Jack scared her... Too much for her to work with... Yami would have had Asta. Violet didn't need to pull him back... She didn't want to pull him back... The two friends the girl had once known did not need her as a burden here just like she had burdened them at home. Then there was Charlotte, and that seemed like the natural option, but the only woman she had ever got close to was Sister Lily. When Violet was around other women in Hage, they just looked down on her, they hated her. She did not understand most women, she also did not understand most men... She slowly turned her head to Fuegoleon, it had all happened in one second, her considerations, her comprehension, she felt her lips trembling. She could barely manage to get the words to leave her lips as she chose the Crimson Lion Kings. The only real option that felt right to her, and her gut was something she believed she could trust.
The young girl felt her body go into some sort of auto pilot as she was moved to a small area in which designated that she now belonged to that squad. She watched the others, waiting for everything to be said and done. Part of it felt way too surreal... She was genuinely worried that she would just wake up and it would be a horrid dream, and she would be back in Hage village. Back in that basement. Back with the man who had taken everything from her. Her eyes became half shut as she sat there her body was exhausted from everything she had done, from the emotional and mental exhaustion. Even through all of that she forced herself to stand when it was time to leave, and she gulped as she felt a pit in her stomach most of that having been caused by her anxiety. A shadow was cast over her body as the sun was setting, and she looked up at the tall man now at her side. He was silent as she barely managed to stand and address him. "C-captain..!" The tone of her voice was one of surprise the man in front of her was unsurprisingly over a foot taller than her, and the confidence radiating off of Fuegoleon made her obviously intimidated. It was in her eyes, the vermilion haired man could clearly read her instinct. She wanted to run, to get away, but she also seemed to be having some sort of inner battle. He knew he had made a good decision by raising his hand, despite everything she may have felt and despite everything her mind told her to do, she was standing her ground against herself one of the hardest things for someone to do.
"Come, it is time to return to the base..." He said calmly, putting a surprisingly gentle hand on her shoulder. With that, Fuegoleon turned on his heel, and walked away he was very calm as he waited for her to follow him which she did after a few moments. Violet didn't know what to do, or really say. Social development had not exactly happened growing up, in fact, she didn't know if speaking to anyone at all would make them mad, which is why she was always so quiet. He knew something was wrong, but he also knew she didn't know him, so Fuegoleon did not force her to speak. Violet went with him to the headquarters, she didn't realize she had been doing it, but she had begun to make small crystal animals without thinking using one of her creation spells. Her eyes just wandered around in some sort of awe as she looked around the base, all of it was unspoken.
