Unexpected. ~Luke Brooks

CHAPTER 3

I'm awoken by the sound of my alarm, I look over to my phone and see it's 6:15am, time to get ready. I walk over to the bathroom and quickly jump into the shower, do my usual shower routine; shampoo, wash, condition, etc.
I realise I don't have time to dry and straighten my hair so I just quickly braid it into 2, I put some mascara and concealer on and get ready into my uniform. I run downstairs and grab a bottle on water and a fruit pot and make my way to the Brooks'.

Surprisingly the boys were all ready on time, so we set off to meet James and Daniel.
We arrived at Penola and I was suddenly greeted by a bunch of stares and people laughing at me. I wanted to just run home, jai must've noticed how uncomfortable I felt and he intertwined our fingers, I instantly felt safe and a lot calmer. Luckily Jai was in my first lesson, maths. I had always been very good at maths, it was one of the few subject I was actually better then my sister in.
"Mrs Rowe, this is Paige. She's new here" Jai said introducing me to our teacher.
"Hello Miss Blake, yes I've been expecting you, you're more then welcome to sit next to Jai, if you'd like." She sweetly says.
The lesson just consisted of my and Jai mucking about and occasionally getting told to be quiet, but the teacher wasn't too strict and she seemed quite nice.

1st, 2nd and 3rd period had all passed and it was now lunch time, I couldn't find any of the boys so I went straight to get dinner when I accidentally bumped into someone.
"WATCH WERE YOU'RE GOING FREAK" the girl who I'd just bumped into shrieked, realising I had made her spill her juice onto her. "I'm so sorr-" I began to apologise but was interrupted when her hand crossed my face, how dare she just hit me. "BITCH" I screamed as I punched her, causing blood to pour out from her nose.
"Paige, what the fuck. Why'd you just hit Lauri?" Luke asked as he made his way through the little crowd we had made ourselves. "Lukey she poured her drink down me and then punched me" she girl said as she pretending to cry, to get his sympathy.
But why did she call him 'Lukey'? Do they know eachother? "Do you know her Luke?" I ask hoping he'd say no.
"Yeah she's my girlfriend." He replied. I suddenly felt sick, but why? I didn't like him, did I? I push passed everyone and run home.

When I finally reach my bedroom, I look down at my phone and notice I've got miss calls off:
Beau and James and texts off: Jai and Daniel,
But nothing from Luke.
To Paige - From Jai
Hey what happened? Luke told me that you'd punched Lauri for no reason. What actually happened?
To Paige - From Daniel
What really happened? Wanna go for ice-cream?
I quickly messaged Jai and Daniel and explained everything to them.
I also told Daniel to come over, so we could go for ice-cream, i wasn't really in the mood to go out anywhere but ice-cream always cheers me up. I quickly get changed out of my uniform, I throw on some pink velvet shorts and a cream jumper.
"Paige were here" someone shouts from downstairs, it sounds like it could be James.
I slip my black converse on, grab my bag and make my way downstairs, to where I see: Beau, jai, James and Daniel all waiting for me by the door. I was a bit upset that there was no Luke, but it was for the best.
We made our way to the ice cream parlour,
I chose to get bubblegum, Jai got chocolate, James and Daniel got vanilla, and beau could decided between strawberry or bubblegum, so I chose for him, "he'll have bubblegum".

It was starting to get dark, so we all walked home together, James and Daniel had left us a few streets back, and so it was only me, Jai and Beau. "Paige, do you like Luke?" Jai asked me as he pulled me to the side, "no we're just close, we all are" i reply, obviously lying.
He raised his eyebrows at me as if he could see right through my little fib, I had never really been a good at lying."

It's been a few days since the incident at school, I haven't spoken to Luke yet.
Maybe he never liked me, maybe not even as a friend.

LUKE'S POV
Since the incident at school, I haven't spoken or heard from Paige, I don't blame her though, for not wanting to talk to me. After all she thinks I didn't believe her, I never even gave her a chance to tell me her side of the story, I just didn't want to disappoint Lauri.
The boys told me Paige's side to the story and I obviously believed her, and I wanted to talk to her, I really did but I was afraid she'd just reflect me.
Ive been thinking of ways to break up with Lauri, after she did that to Paige I realised I really didn't want to be with her, I care about Paige way too much.
I didn't want to end things with Lauri over text but I knew if I was with her face to face I wouldn't be able to do it.
To Lauri - From Luke
Hey, I think we'd work better as friends, we barely see eachother and I have to focus more on my YouTube channel.

I instantly get a reply,

To Luke - From Lauri
Yeah okay, I agree. Bye.

She seems a little moody but she seems fine, now I need to go make things right between me and Paige, I can't loose her.

I make my way round to Paige's and knock on the door, she opens it and realising it's me she begins to close it, I push it back open and grab her arm, pulling her into a hug.
She kind of resits at first but then she hugs me tight. "I'm so sorry, I did believe you I just didn't want to disappoint anyone, and I understand I disappointed you. But I'm sorry." I tell her, she just hugs me tighter, we just stand hugging for around 10 minutes, when we're interrupted by Beau and Jai, I forgot the door was wide open.

We decide to have a movie night at Paige's seen as though her mum and sister are away for the weekend. I sit with Paige on one sofa and Jai and Beau sit together on the other.
We begin watching 'IT' and Paige cuddles into me, occasionally burying her head into my chest, whenever she got scared, which I didn't mind, I fact I liked it.
I look over to Beau and Jai, to see they have both fallen asleep already, I then look down at Paige and notice she's also fallen asleep.
She looks so cute sleeping.
