Having gotta use to the carriage bumps, I lean my arm on my chair gazing out the window.

In the afternoon, the forest was so thick that sunlight had difficulty getting in. But now, at night, it seemed more unsettling.

My destination was the Bloody Gardens. Land outside the human territory, and into the vampires.

Vampires, a natural enemy to human society, which means my home, Blue Bell.

Goodbye, Blue Bell...I'll never see you again..

A bitter smile came across my lips.
It was a cruel, mocking expression, but humanity had accepted their position as prey and even used the term themselves.

I have never liked it, ever since I was a child. I simply can't understand why humans would accept it.

"I am..quite surprised.."The guide, the man sitting in the front of me gazing in my direction as if looking at something otherworldly.

"Even now, you can smile like that. As expected of you, Lord Kim. The 'Moon Child'..humanity's ray of hope."

"You flatter me, but I will fulfill my duties," I tell him.

"That wasn't an exaggeration. I believe that all of humanity will also believe that someday. I can't imagine you faltering now of all times."

Suddenly the carriage came to a stop, make me launch forward. I heard the whines of the horses.

My guide looked out the carriage window with a panic look, then questioned the driver.

"What happened?!" The guide asked.

"Apologies, my lord-- someone sprung out in front of us and scared the horses!" The driver says.

Did someone die on the road.

I quickly got out of the carriage." Lord Kim! Please stay in the carriage, let me go instead!" Paying no mind to his request, I took a look at the man leaning on the tree trunk in front of the carriage.

"Lend me this." I took the lantern from the driver and walked up to the man. Kneeling down on one knee before him.

Covered in wounds from head to toe, I wondered what exactly happened to him. His breathing was labored, and he appeared to be crippling pain. Due to the darkness and his head lowered, I couldn't make out his face.

I heard a wolf howling in the distance.

He would be safer in the carriage.

I couldn't just leave him in such a dangerous place. I move to lend him my shoulder, but I notice his eyes were following me through his bangs. When he saw me he seemed to...gasp in surprise.

"You're.." The man spoke.

"I'm what?" The man kept quiet but continued to stare.

Not even a word response.

Moonlight came through the tree, revealing the man before me.

He had a handsomely beautiful face, dark raven hair, sharp jawline, and piercing red eyes..and sharp fangs in his mouth.

"Your a vampire, aren't you?" I ask, raising a brow.
