"Don't you trust me, nephew?" Kronos eyed the young boy, he was eight years old, he had navy blue eyes that constantly shifted to different shades of blue, they shifted like whirlpools and sometimes a new colour would crach over an other like a wave and take over, it made sense as he was the Prince of the seas, the son of Oceanus and tethys, he was stronger than his many siblings, while they had Been dubbed lesser gods and goddesses, River seemed to be as powerful as Kronos's son poseidon who shared an affinity for the seas, and he was only four years old at the moment and would eventually grow to become the major god of the worlds oceans. This complicated things however, as only one God could rule the seas at one time as decreeed by the current ancient laws made by the primordials.
"Uncle Kronos, I trust you about as far as I can throw you!" the boy remarked giggling, he was sat on his uncle's lap, he had told him about the adventures he had had with Poseidon and Clay, Kronos's other son, Rhea had persisted she wanted at least one more for good measure. While Kronos didn't particularly enjoy having his children run amok destroying his fortress he understood better than anyone that Rhea wouldn't stand for him slaughtering them so his hands were tied, he did however enjoy his young nephews company, unlike his sons and daughters, excluding Clay, he seemed eager to learn the ways of the titans, Poseidon and his siblings seemed more interested in picking out the things that they'd change if they were in charge, of course this was what Kronos called a 'Red flag', in the immortal parenting guide book it stated in chapter three that this meant his children would eventually try to over throw him and cast him out into Tartarus. Kronos was about to reply to Rivers remark when he noticed the boys eyes widen in fear and his body stiffen, Kronos understood why, while he liked the boy, his father did not. He had become rather abusive towards the godling as of late, Kronos would not stand for it.
"Relax, young one, your father won't dare risk my wrath." said the titan king softly to the quaking god, this did little however to calm him. The atmosphere in the throne room seemed to change rapidly, as if Kronos was deep underwater, the pressure built around him as if it was going to squash him to death.
"My Chambers boy, nobody can enter with out my permission." Kronos said gruffly as he lifted the young boy off his lap and set him down onto the ground watching as his little legs carried him a mile a minute. Oceanus entered the throne room through the large black marble doorway, the place was all made from black marble with gold engravings of the many battles of the titans engraved on every wall in the fortress.
"Brother." Kronos greeted he eyed him like a preparatory creature, Oceanus understood this look and growled slightly, he knew as soon as he saw that look in his little brothers eyes that his hopes of reclaming his son would be shot down as soon as he suggested the idea.
"The boy." Oceanus tried anyways.
"Is to remain with me." Kronos smiled smuggly. "by order of your king."
"Kronos!" Oceanus growled in warning. "With a flick of my wrist I could will the water in your body to expand rapidly outwards causing you to explode!" he knew his threat would fall on deaf ears however, if anything Kronos would relish the challenge. The king sat calmly on his black marble throne, it had veins of molten gold flowing through it, and large golden flecks. It looked like a pitch black part of space with golden stars.
Kronos grinned slightly as he raised his power above his brothers, Oceanus paled slightly as he ran through every possible thing Kronos could be about to do, the sad part was... He didn't survive any of them.
"And with a flick of my wrist, brother, I could strip you of your title and power and cast you out to be eaten by wolves." Kronos's golden eyes gleamed wickedly, it unnerved Oceanus how casualy his spoke of murdering him. "You would dare come into my fortress and threaten me!" the King growled summoning his scythe.
