about an hour later, the boys came over to colby's apartment. Ana was asleep in her room.

"it's time to party brother" jake said, unaware of ana being in the apartment.

"we can't be loud tho, i don't want to wake Ana" colby said.

"how is she doing?" sam asked.

"she's doing good so far-" colby said as jake cut him off.

"wait what? i'm so confused" jake said sitting down on the couch.

"yeah who's ana" corey asked.

"remember that girl that we found at the end of tunnel?" sam said "she's living with colby"

corey sat there with his jaw dropped.

"so she's like your little hostage now" jake said winking.

everyone laughed. "no jake jesus" colby said.

"can we meet her" corey asked.

"i want her to gain strength first" colby said "and get more comfortable with the living situation, and i think she's sleeping right now"

they all nodded "seems reasonable" they said.

Ana started to toss and turn during her nap, she rolled around and eventually landed on her right side.

she gasped loudly and began tearing up.

colby knocked on the door. "everything alright in there"

she wiped her tears and sniffed "i rolled on my ribs"

he opened the door and rushed up next to her. she groaned in pain.

"here i'll get you an ice pack" he said.

he walked to the freezer and grabbed a bag of frozen peas.

"is she okay?" sam asked.

"yeah i think, she rolled on her broken ribs" colby said.

"broken ribs?" corey said "oh my gosh"

"yeah" colby said as he walked back in to Ana's bedroom.

"here's some frozen peas" colby said.

he helped ana sit up and he placed the frozen bag on her hurt ribs.

"does that feel better?" colby asked.

"yeah thank you" she said.

"it's no problem" colby said. "do you need anything else"

"no i'm fine" ana replied with a smile.

he smiled back and went back to his friends, eventually putting the ice pack in the freezer hours laters.

later that night, after the boys went home and colby began to get ready for bed, Ana had already fell asleep.

nights in the cave began replaying in her head.

she couldn't forget those evil faces, no matter how hard she tried.

it all played back in her head.

the abuse

the threatening.

the pain

them touching her.

the trauma

she woke up crying, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed.

she tried her best to sit up to look for her phone.

when she found it, she looked through her contacts to find colby's.

she called him, he instantly picked up.

"what's wrong ana?" colby said.

she couldn't even make out words, only her sobs rang through the phone.

seconds later a shirtless colby in basketball shorts, rushed in her room.

he sat down next to her in her bed and embraced her. "what's wrong?" he asked. "are you hurt? what happened"

all she could say was "the memories."

colby instantly knew what she was talking about. he placed a hand on her cheekbone and wiped her tears with his thumb.

"look at me" he said. "just focus on me, and nothing else, distract yourself"

she tried her best to control her breathing and crying. she did what he told her and she studied his face.

his blue hair that matched his eyes. his soft jawline and his plump lips. the way he made her feel so calm.

minutes later she had managed to stop crying.

"are you okay now" he said, looking truly concerned.

"i don't know" she said softly, "do you mind staying here with me tonight?"

"of course not" he said as he layed her the right side of the bed.

he put his arm around her, she rested her head on his chest.

she loved being in his arms, she felt so safe and comfortable.

colby looked down and the sleeping beauty he had snuggled upon her.

he brushed some of her hair out of her face and brushed it behind her ear.

she fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat and body warmth.

he fell asleep, reassured that she was safe in his arms.

and that's all he needed.

they woke up in each other's arms, their legs tangled together. it was the best sleep they had both ever had .
