Prologue
Dovah se Ved Yolos & Dovah se Sot Yolos

It had been many years since Calida had loved anyone, much less a man. To love a man enough to have his children had once been laughable, the fate predicted on the Wall proving that the Last Dragonborn was never to survive Al-du-in's demise.

Calida had laughed herself to tears with relief when she had returned to the Throat of the World, a bit more wise and older than she had left.

Calida supposed that Sovngarde did that to you.

Now, many years later, Calida held her two newborn babes in her arms, supporting them with her bent knees. Twin girls, one with ebony black hair and the other with Calida's own snow white locks. That sight hurt Calida's heart more than anything. The Dragon blood ran strong in them both, but side by side the girls were more than a Dragon's children- they were Dov themselves.

Was Calida still the last Dovahkiin? Yes. There would never be another that could devour a Dragon's soul, but these two still had that power running in their veins. They were still Dov and would remain so for years to come.

"What should I call you two, hmm? You, my Sot Yolos ...have my hair. It shows you are my daughter as your sister has my eyes. One day, I'll help you braid it as my own grandmother did, both of you."

Glancing between the two, Calida blinked back tears. She really had made it this far, to have children. Oh how she wished her mate was here with her.

He would have cradled them close and spoken in Dovahzhul far more than she had. They would have heard their father speak in the dragon language first, before anything that resembled common.

"For you, my Sot Yolos , I will name you Cirilla after your grandmother."

To the ebony haired babe, Calida said in a smoother voice, "For you, my obsidian Ved Yolos, I will name you Karlieyah after a fierce woman who was one of my dearest friends."

Calida had trusted Paar-thur-nax, Od-ah-viing and Dur-neh-viir with the knowledge of her children, since they had inquired about the new Dov they had felt across the vast distance. Calida should have only trusted two and the one that betrayed her wasn't her first suspect.

Paar-thur-nax took Cirilla away, 'for her protection' he claimed. With only one of the two new Dov still remaining in Skyrim, the beacon that was their souls was dimmed. It would be overlooked by threats. Since Paarthurnax knew that a Dovah was possessive and the Dragonborn was quite capable of killing him with only a few shouts, he took the young Sot Yolos far away. Using the currents of time, Paar-thur-nax was able to travel to a land far away from Tamriel. One that Al-du-in would have gladly devoured.

It was here that Paar-thur-nax gave the babe to a young mother, who had prayed for her still born's soul. That woman would take Cirilla into her family, as the Heir to a throne.

What of Karlieyah? She was still a powerful Dov yet longed for her sister as she grew up brave, strong and beautiful- her mother's daughter and crowned heir. The duo would rule Skyrim with grace and would protect it with fire.

The Wild Hunt, fierce monsterous creatures from beyond the borders of any world, desired both girls for their blood. Dov blood was old, as old as time itself after all, and they wanted power to conquer worlds.

No matter who- or what - stood in their way.
