Chapter 7
Rebecca's P.O.V
I flopped myself on my queen-sized bed and let out a relieved sigh. That long and warm bath really helps with my sore legs. I didn't know shopping could be this exhausted. When I came home, it was already dark. I still can't believe I spend almost all day at the mall with Cassandra.
Mom was a bit worried I wasn't home yet and it made me feel a bit guilty for not informing her that I was going to be late.
When I was in the bookstore I forget about the outside world and didn't notice the day already turn to dark. If wasn't Cassandra dragged me out from the store, I wouldn't be home right now and still at the bookstore.
My mom also hasn't eaten dinner because she too worried make me squirm in guilt. After a quick dinner with mom, I went straight to my room and took a long bath.
I can feel my eyelids were getting heavy and heavier. The soft and comfortable bed was drowning me even deeper. I wanted to sleep but, I remember I haven't finished my homework.
I groan out loud and forces my body to get up and staggered to my study table. Forcing to open my eyes widely, I began to open my book and buries myself, finishing my homework. I closed my book when I was done.
Right now, I was wide awake and all the sleepiness has gone. I can't help to think that it wouldn't hurt to study for a bit. So, that how I spend four hours later studying. It was almost 3 in the morning.
I decide that it's time to get to sleep. I tidy up all my books and turn off the study lamp. I walked slowly to my bed and jumped into my bed. A relieved sigh came out voluntary. Feeling the soft material against my body really felt relaxing. I snuggle more toward the bed. As I closed my eyelid, my mind drifts to what happened at the bookstore.
I felt a small tugged on the bottom of my blouse, "Becks, I need to go to the toilet."
"Hmm..." I was totally focused on the book on my hands.
"I will be back in a few." She tried to get my attention.
"Hmm..." Still, focus on the book on my hands. I heard a chuckle beside me but, I choose to ignore.
"Stay here and don't go anywhere, okay?"
"Hmm..." I nodded. I can feel Cassandra walked away from me. My eyes still remain in the book.
After flipping a few more pages, I put the book in my basket. This book is interesting so, I totally going to buy it. I continue my search. My eyes were on the bookshelf only. When I turned my back to go to another side of the bookshelf, I run into someone hard chest.
That really takes me by surprise and made me stumble back and lost my balance. I closed my eyes tightly and wait for my body to make contact with the floor. But, it never did.
In fact, a light minty scent invaded my nostril. I feel a strong arm around my waist holding me and warm body pressed to me.
Slowly, I open my eyes and met with a pair of blues eyes. I was too captive by those eyes and didn't realize I was in his embrace.
"Looks like I just catch a fallen angel." A husky voice suddenly snap me back to reality
When I realize I was in his embrace. I quickly push his chest and made him stumble back and release me. He almost falls back but, quickly steady himself.
"Is that a way to say thank to someone who just saves you from falling?" He asked as one eyebrow raised. He looked at me with amusement in his eyes.
