I was sitting on the table, waiting for him to get back with the answer. I was cold, because the grown was backless which was very uncomfortable, well except for the young male nurse that was clearly happy about what he saw back there.

I might should have been more careful about my health, because it is clearly that everything is not fine this time. I should have notice the weight lost, that wasn't because of skipping a few meal, I should have notice the nose bleeding of stress, I should have notice the headache that became more prominent.

Well those past few month were epic! I mean come on, I was naming the newt architect by the Architect's Newspapers what a chance. Plus I had move from Paris to San Francisco in no time to be thinking about, I had also visited New York, LA, Chicago.. But I had so many other city to discover! This couldn't be the end of me.

"Ok miss Brown.."

"Cut the crap Greg you know me I know you since I am like 5 so please no more formality" he was smirking, with his pepper white hair, large figure. I assure you if he wasn't my doctor and like 30 years younger I would definitely be flirting with him.

"No joking today Soph' you know this is serious otherwise you wouldn't be here."

"True."

This man here was following me since I was a little kid, I had a weird blood disease, still unknown at this time. I was always cold, like even if I was under the sun at lunch time, and then I became weirdly pale almost translucide like my blood wasn't even red anymore. that phase past and I was back to normal skin color. Well I was living in Paris but moving frequently in SF to be seeing my favorite searching doctor.

" First how are you? like since the event, I saw that you were the next..."

" Generation of architects, I'm going to be on the top of the world, next time I would be designing you grave mister" I cut him off joking, he knew that too well.

"yeah and I would feel honored by that, but here its not the question. This is important Sophia you should probably call Ellie."

"Could I get to dress first I feel naked like that." he knew that I was avoiding the question, but wasn't going to force it any further.

" Yeah go I will wait for you." he glance at his watch and started to get comfortable on his chair. It was already 7pm and I knew Meredith, his wife, would call him any minute to know where he is.

-----------------

I was in front of the miroir, now completely dress in my cargo black pants that fit a few months ago but now hangs weirdly on my waist. A white blouse with the sleeves rolls up enough to see the beginnings of my arm tattoo. And here I was starring at the girl that supposed to be me, and now that I have a closer look at it, it wasn't me anymore. My used to be bright baby blue eye were oddly turning dark blue, my olive tan skin was becoming white and pale and my brown hair weren't as shiny as before.

I should have notice it, I should have know that something was wrong with me. But no, I missed every signe, or choose to missed every single one of them.

"Yep love I would be back as fast as I can, but I am with Sophia right now.."

Eavesdropping wasn't a good idea but I wasn't ready to face the reality, plus those two were the ultimate couple goal. Married for more than 30 years, first love, college lovers.

"No it isn't good Mer, this time I don't know what to do. There is no solution" he was frowning, wrinkled visible on his forehead and at the corner of his eyes. If I didn't know him any better, I would know that it was serious, but I knew him and this was a matter of life or death situation.

"I would ask her...of course Mer! but you know how she is, stubborn as hell... Yeah I would ask Gavin to to take the job..." Gavin their only child a brillant doctor to be, waiting for his father to retire to take over his job. He wanted to be train in an other hospital before taking his father spot.

That is why his study ass was all the way to Paris when I was here in San Francisco waiting for him to come back and hangout with me. He was the brother that I never had, and yes friendship between a boy and a girl can exist.

"Sophia, sweetheart come inside instead of listening behind the door."

Shit he made me.

"Hello Meredith how are you today?" I was smiling like a kid that did a bad thing and feel I couldn't help myself.

"Hello dear. That would be me asking that question... I told you the last time I had seen you that you've lost a bunch of weight. Would you like for me to keep the line for the news?" Greg was eyeing me seriously, I knew he didn't his wife to be on the line. This was serious and he wanted to talk about it on a raisonnable side with me alone.

"Naaaa thanks Mer, but it would be ok. Next time I'll visite could you make me this delicious brownies? I would love it."

"Of course sweetie of course. Remember we love you." I could ear her emotions on that last sentence.

"Love you too mer." thank god greg hang up on her. Rude but appropriate.

"Well Soph', Meredith is right, we love you. You know that and we wouldn't late you down ok?"

"Greg I know but now you freaking me out.."

"Please take a seat. Sophia." And I obligate, my hearth had race and I was having trouble to breath in. but I had a doctor in front of me so, no big deal.

"Sophia, you have Huntington disease..."
