"Sorry Lance," Hunk sighed as his friend walked in. "I'm kinda busy right now. I can't have you distracting me today." Lance just stared at his best friend in shock. He had come to the dubbed "computer room" to find Pidge for help with his lion. Since it was acting like a programming problem.
"Oh... uh I guess I'll try to find Pidge somewhere else," he chuckled as he smeared the oil he was using on Blue all over the back of his hair.
"She is busy also," Hunk snapped. "Just leave us alone for now Lance." He saw a flicker of Lance flinching away from him. "I'm... I'm sorry Lance. All of us are busy right now and can't mess with you right now."
'Mess with me, huh?' The Latino gave a sassy smirk and saluted his goodbye. 'Let's find Coran then. He should be able to,'
"Ah! Number 3," Coran was grinning. "I'm sorry to ask this, but the Princess is in need of some help with the castle's systems. I need to to finish mopping all the floors of the castle." The energetic male quickly zoomed away.
"It's going to be a bit longer Blue," he sighed as he quickly got started on his new task. Despite the castle being large the teen was able to finish in a decent amount of time. Though it helped that the mop mostly did the work for him. "Finally done."
Quickly leaving he went back to his lion only to find a pissed Pidge fixing it. "I can't believe you let your lion get this bad," she rounded on him. "It took me two hours to fix it. Two!" The youngest paladin stopped when she saw the frown on Lance's face. "I'm sorry. She sighed. "It's been a tuff day. Between the frustrating sifting threw info we got from the Galra to this." Lance only gave a short nod.
After Pidge left, and after lecturing him again, Lance was done. "I'm sorry Blue," Lance whisper. "Actually. No. I'm not sorry. I tried to get you help when I found that programming problem. All I hear is "sorry Lance." Sorry sorry sorrysorrysorry!" The lion didn't react. "Ignoring me now too I see," the teen huffed in false humor. "See you later Blue." Not even seconds later did a piercing sound ring threw Lance's skull, causing his rising headache to worsen dramatically. "Stars." The Blue Paladin looked at his lion. It was active and ready to do his bidding. "Is this an apology?" The lion gave a quick, and alarmingly human like, nod yes.
The battle was won quickly, but Lance felt that the fates, or even the universe it's self, was against him that day. He sat threw more lectures in one setting, in one day, then normal. And they all ended with, "I'm sorry, insert excuse here."
"Stop it," Lance growled. "I don't want to hear anymore sorries. We all know you never mean them. I'm a fuckup. I get it. I'm to loud. I'll stop talking. I'm in the way. Fine I won't leave the training room or my room unless I'm training or when I need to get food." Then he turned. Because today was one of those days. The day that everything that could possibly mess with his day and get him into trouble. The day that knowing his teammates could kill him if they wanted to, only to apologize. When they all know that he would be better gone then there. Even Blue was a little miffed with him.
"Lance,"
"No Shiro,"the tan skin was marred with bruises and a couple of cuts here and there. "You will sit down and be quiet." Surprisingly the man did as ordered. "I try to stay out of the way for the most part. I only come to you when I need help. I sprained my foot during training yesterday. I asked for someone to look at it better. All I get was an "I'm sorry. Insert excuse." He held up his hand to stop them from talking. "I needed Pidge this morning to help with Blue, which isn't even fixed. When Hunk turned me down I went to find Coran, only to be handed a mop and told to wash all the floors."
The princess whispered, "I'm sorry." The teen only laughed long and hard at that. "I am."
"Oh Allura," a smile, that didn't reach his blue eyes, stretched across his face. "I no longer believe you. Because we all know that saying your sorry is the biggest lie you can say. Because we all know you're not." He turned away. "Even after explaining everything I see and feel, you aren't sorry. None of you are."
Lance was done. He was tired of it. One little sentence. It was just one little sentence. However it was the biggest lie he had ever heard. And some of those lies had come from his own mouth.
