A/N: I am writing this book because all my other books are kind of angsty and I want to try writing something light hearted and fluffy for a change.

Key word being *try.*

It was a 7:21 P.M on a wonderful summer Friday evening. The sun was setting and the air was cool. Traffic was heavy as most people were on their way home from work. Jeon Jungkook wasn't one of those people. He was in his office, working on a expansion contract. He had pulled an all-nighter the night before and was still as awake as could be. He was a functioning workaholic and he loved it. Nothing gave him more pleasure than his work. For some people, the happiest day of their life was the day they graduated, or the day they got married, or the day they held their new born baby in their arms for the first time. You know, normal things. Jungkook's, on the other hand, was the day his mom told him that she was retiring. Jungkook was ecstatic. He had always dreamt of taking over the company. He had so many ideas that he wanted to make a reality and when he finally had the chance to do so, he couldn't have been happier.

As Jungkook was working on the contract, he heard his phone ring. He groaned and lowered his head in frustration as he already knew who was calling. He tried to ignore the caller, but she was persistent. The fourth time she called, Jungkook picked up the phone.

"Mom, I already said no. I told you the last blind date was the final one, no more." He didn't even bother saying hello to her.

"You're 26, son and you've never even kissed anyone. How will you ever settle down with someone without my help?" His mom asked. Jungkook could hear how worried she was through the phone. Personally, he thought she was being ridiculous. So what if he's 26, it's not a must to fall in love or settle down not that he even wanted to.

"Mom, I don't even want to settle down. I told you, I'm happily content as I am right now. Being single is a personal choice of mine, please respect it" Jungkook said. He sounded like a broken record because he has had to repeat those very words to his mother every single day since he turned twenty. That's when her obsession with him finding love began.

"You can't back out now, Jungkook. The date is in less than 30 minutes." His mom said, not heeding his request for her to respect his personal choice.

"I told you to cancel it!" Jungkook said, raising his voice a little. Since he started counting, in just this month alone, his mom had set him on 29 blind dates. 29! He couldn't take it anymore, he was slowly losing his mind. He had to sit there and eat dinner with women he didn't know and listen to them talk about things he didn't care about. Don't get him wrong, he tried to care, he truly did but none of the women he went on a date with were even slightly interesting to him. Just to humor his mother, he even tried going out to find a woman that interested him by himself—since for a brief moment, his mother thought that she was bad at picking women for her son to go out a blind date with— but he didn't meet any woman that was able to grab his attention and he didn't know why. His mother concluded that it was her son that was the problem and not the women she picked so she went back to setting him up on blind dates.

For a while, Jungkook thought that there was something wrong with him. Maybe he was flawed, or broken. Maybe that's why he couldn't bring himself to like anyone let alone love them. He had tried everything. He has dated every single type of girls; good girls, bad girls, classy girls, studious girls, and the list goes on. He gave up on trying and decided that love just wasn't for him so he buried himself in his work instead because other than his best friend, Namjoon, his work was the only thing he loved.

"Don't keep her waiting" his mom said.

"This makes it 30" was all Jungkook said in response.

"You know what they say, 30th time's the charm. Good luck!" His mom said then hung up.
