Chapter 2

**Charlotte's POV**

It's been about two years since those awful people first captured my family and I. I am now 17 years of age, and I have decided I'm ready to go visit my best friend/ sista from anotha mista, Natalie. She is the only one who knows about my past. I talk to her and check up on her every once in a while. I've decided that I'm going to surprise her with a visit. She now lives in the MoonLake pack with her mate Jack, the beta. It's a pretty good pack that governs well and treats everyone equally. I believe that there are twin alphas named Xavier and Blake. I found out a while ago that my cousin Jamie and my uncle Max live there as well. Jamie and I have always been close and I try to also check up on him.
I'm on my way to Natalie's pack when I feel pain in my left shoulder blade. I look back to she a metal arrow with many sharp barbed ends sticking out. I stop and shift readying myself to fight. I see a shadow behind a tree and I run towards it. The shadow comes out to be a middle-aged man in leather hunting gear armed with a crossbow and daggers lining his belt. He looks at me and smirks,"Your a pretty one but too bad I'm going to have to kill you," he says with no remorse in his voice. I could tell that he's done this countless times before.
His aura told me he was bad news and I made a two second decision and used my inhuman speed to go over to him and snap his neck. I know I sound awful but I had to to save myself and others.
I am now running in my wolf form and I'm about a mile away from their territory. As I reach the boundary I hide my scent and continue. I do that every time I visit because asking permission will only lead to me having to speak to people I don't trust. I still don't because it is very hard to gain my trust.
One of the reasons why was because later I found out that the leader of the attack on my family and pack was organized by one of my fathers best friends.
Anyway, I reach the tree line in front of the pack house and make sure no ones around. I shift into my human form. I don't need clothes because they stay with me when I shift. Remembering the arrow in my back I try to pull it out and it comes out shooting pain down my arm. I wonder why until I see all the barbed edges stuck in my shoulder. "Don't worry about is Natalie will patch you up," my wolf says. I revel only the werewolf part of my scent and proceed.
I do as she says and I walk strait into the front door to see Natalie, Jack, Xavier and Blake sitting on the couch talking. They all pause and look at me when I enter. Then all the sudden I smell these two amazing scents and I see the twin alphas sniff the air and look at me. Quickly me and Izzy both decide to play it cool and act like me don't know that they're our mates.
Natalie is the first to recover from my entrance and says," Charlie is it really you?" "Yup the one and only!" I reply back with a big grin. She also grins and jumps up and crushes me into a hug." Oh my god! I missed you so mu-" She stops mid-sentence when she notices my wound. "Natalie don't freak out it was just some hunter that wanted to kill me no big deal." Two very large growls erupting from the alphas as I say this. "Fine. But sit down in this chair so I can patch you up." She says motioning to a chair in front of the couches.
My mates try to get up to come to me and I let out a low warning growl making them sit back down. They both look hurt but seem to understand after Natalie says,"Guys don't come near her. She doesn't trust strangers and she'll bite you if you don't stay seated," Natalie warns them. She brings out the first aid kit and begins removing the barbs from my shoulder.
