Taehyung's POV

My mother drove me to the airport that morning. We had the windows rolled down and the wind hit our faces and caressed our hair. It was perfect. Nothing like how it was going to be when I arrived in Forks.

I wore a sleeveless shirt considering it was only a good eighty-seven degrees. The sky was cloudless and the perfect shade of blue. I loved Phoenix. The heat, the sun, my mother.  Especially my mother.

Forks was located under a stream of dark musky clouds and a never-ending amount of rain fall, even in the summer. Why anyone would want to live there is a mystery in and of itself. My mother took me and herself out of the small town when I was only a few months old.

We were getting away from the dread of the town is what she tells me but I know it was because of Chaenbin. My father.

Nothing bad like abuse was going on, I just think my mother couldn't take the constant feeling of being suffocated anymore. I was still forced to visit ever summer though until i turned fourteen. We moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Where my mom then met Bill.

Bill was cool, is cool. He place for a little baseball league and is constantly travelling so he wasn't around as much as my mom wanted him to be. When I over heard Bill asking my mom to join him to Florida for a while  and she kept refusing saying she had to watch me I realized that was the moment I had to go. After everything my mom did for me I had to do this for her.

So I went up to her and told her I wanted to go stay with Chaenbin for a while. As much as I detested Forks and loved Phoenix, I couldn't let her give up anymore than she already has for me.

"Taehyung," she said -for the last of a thousand times- before I got on the plane. "You really don't have to go. I can always tell Bill no."

I shake my head. "I want to go." I was always a bad liar but I was glad at that moment that the lady in front of me walked into the plane and I was next.

My mother hugged me tightly and kisses my forehead and cheeks before I finally pushed her away softly and told her I'd call her when I landed.

The flight was only a good three to four hours so I wouldn't be on it for too long but as soon as I got on the plane and sat in my seat and sat my carry on, which happened to be a parka, my lap I immediately felt exhausted.

I begun thinking about what to expect staying in Forks with Chaenbin. He was always nice and caring. I never doubted once that he loves me and I love him, but telling him that I was going to be staying with him willingly took him by surprise, but he was just as supportive and maybe even a little excited. I wouldn't go as far as to say I was excited to stay with him but this was my decision so I could only blame myself.

Chaenbin was waiting for me with his cruiser. This wasn't surprising. Chaenbin is Police Chief Kim to everyone in Forks. The man whose wife left him with their five month old baby and a son who stopped coming to see him when he turned fourteen, but somehow always had a smile on his face. Again, not surprising.

We gave each other an awkward pat on the back hug when i made my way off the plane.

"It's good to see you kiddo." He said as he takes my suitcase from me and placing it in the trunk of the cruiser.

I give him a one sided smile. "You too dad."

Once we started driving in the car for a good twenty minutes, that seemed to be the mark to talk to me cause Chaenbin then told me he had a surprise for me.

"You know i hate surprises dad. What is it?" I ask sighing.

"Well you've been saying for a while how you wanted a car when you got here and I know you insisted on buying it yourself but a friend of mine was actually selling a car of his own and I couldn't pass up the opportunity Tae." He says with a smile.
