In the end, despite my objection, we decided that Jase would spend the night at mine. Jase has seen my house a few times, but since I wouldn’t say I am proud of what I have, it is rarely on invite that he appears on my doorstep. My house is not particularly clean – yet I never get ill - or tidy. It is hard to hide the fact that you live alone when there is only one other bedroom which barley has a bed in it.

However, despite all these things, Jase never gives me pity or even really questions me about it. Which probably means he is either really stupid and doesn’t realise or, really intelligent to let me keep things to myself. Anyhow, somehow I am now standing in Jase’s room while he packs his duffle bag for the night. Once he is done, we head downstairs, we bash into Jase’s mom.

“Where are you two of to?” she asks holding Mellissa – Jase’s four year old sister – in her arms. Jase’s mom, Sarah is gazing between Jase and me with a suspicious look on her face. She has always thought I was a bad influence on Jase. Meanwhile, Mellissa has the opposite expression on her face. She is staring up at her big brother with a look of awe. She loves me and Jase, and always has.

“I am going round Seb’s house for the night” reply’s Jase, giving his mother a critical look. I remind myself to thank Jase later for not mentioning the dream.

“If that’s alright with you” I add in hope to get a tiny bit more respect from her.

“Umm… I suppose it’s alright. Have you got everything you need J?” she asks giving me a small smile.

“Yes mom!” Jase reply’s, walking past her, “see you later.” He adds shooting me an apologetic look and letting out a small blush. In times like these I wish I had a mom.

“Ring us up if you need anything. Oh! Jase – “I didn’t hear the rest because Jase was dragging me out the house, away from his mother’s constant nagging.

Once we are out in the street again he lets out a sigh and sends me yet another apologetic smile. I give him a small smile and say, “She’s not that bad.”

“Does your dad do that?” he asks innocently. I give it a moment’s thought, would my dad have been like that?

“I don’t see him much, but his sister can be a bit overprotective occasionally.” I reply with a moment’s hesitation, I really hate to lie to Jase.

“Is she going to be at home while I’m there?” he asks and I detect a bit of fear in his voice.

“Nah, it’s just you and me. She came over yesterday and made dinner but left before I went to bed.” Even these small lies hurt to tell him. I really do wish someone had been there…

“Oh okay, so do you want to grab a pizza before we go to yours since I am assuming you have no food?” he says with a glint of amusement in his voice.

“Sure” I reply.

An hour later we are at my tiny house by the forest and Jase and I are talking. Since the main reason Jase is here tonight is to see what these dreams/visions are about, that is the subject of our conversation. By half ten at night we both were exhausted from going over every tiny detail of everything. I never knew this could be so irritating. Eventually Jase concludes that he has all the information he needs and, I am tempted to jump around in joy.

Instead I give a long sigh and once again realise the dream talk has caused me to sweat. I notice Jase looking puzzled and quickly say “I am going to take a shower” before he can ask any more questions.

“Okay” I hear him mumble as I get up and head to my bathroom.

Once I am out of the shower I get changed into sweatpants and a top and head back into my room. I enter to find Jase in similar clothes, he must have changed while I was showering.
