Logan
"Not for long" Rick mutters under his breathI hope Joe doesn't notice, if she gets suspicious about something she does everything in her will power to find out what it is. Normally that's bad enough, but it's worse in this sense, I really want to surprise her and I can't do that if she knows what it its.
The rest of the car ride is pretty chill. We have a casual conversation and nothing really comes out of it. I still feel bad about yesterday though. The art teacher really had to go and was in a rush to leave so I had to get out of there quickly. Also, I wanted to get out of there before Joe left so that she wouldn't see my car. She seems fine though, the only bad thing is she broke the wrong hand. If she injured her right, she wouldn't have to do school work.
I turn into the parking lot and get a spot as close to the school as possible. Joe-Anne hops out the car and grabs her bag before I can open the boot for her. She then says a quick good bye over her shoulder and rushes into school and I soon see why. Right at the front of the school is Dianna. The two embrace and with in seconds a lively conversation started as they head in. There goes my plans for the morning.
Rick said something that I didn't really listen to and instead of replying to what ever it was I turn around and say
"Nice going back there buddy."
"Huh, what do you mean?" He asks, clearly confused as to what I was referring at.
"You almost gave me away."
"Oh that, yeah and?"
"Incase you haven't noticed, I'm trying to surprise her."
"Oh relax, it's not like I gave away what you're planning."
"No, but you made it seem like I was planning something."
"Yeah exactly, seem, not definitely."
"You know her bro, that's all she needs, now she won't stop digging until she figures it out."
"She's going to find out sooner or later." He says with a shrug.
"Whose side are you on?"
"Wow, wow, wow, okay look. You know I'm on your side 100%, always, but this isn't just some chick at a bar you just met. This is my sister, I know you won't purposely hurt her, but I see the way she looks at you. The longer she waits for you the more her heart breaks and I'm not going to stand and watch it happen when there's something I can do about it. The longer you wait, the less likely you are to do it. You need to hurry up bro, this was the only way."
"I know, it's nearly done, just give me more time."
"You're running out of time, the party's in seven days."
"I know, that's why I'm planning on doing it tonight."
"How are you going to get home before her, she leaves straight after school so she can get home before netball."
"Don't worry, I have a plan."
Joe-Anne
Finally the bell goes, releasing us from this prison cell. I grab my books and head straight to my locker to grab my things and head home. I have exactly one and a half hours to get ready for net ball. Normally that includes a shower and a bit of homework, however if traffic's heavy, it's just homework. As soon as I have everything I needed I race to my car in desperate attempt to beat the traffic.
