It was a long night, The sea was rough and unsettled, a storm waged on outside the walls and halls of Dragonstone, with each blast of lighting a silver light flashed through the dim halls and lit things up briefly, It made the already darkened atmosphere even more foreboding. Shireen had stayed awake in her room with an only a hand full of candles as light and it was dim, she looked out the window to the restless sea and wondered about the world. She once heard Davos Seaworth, the onion knight say that the weather was a reflection of the Gods mood.
The cold breeze brushed against her soft skin, She thought about the onion knight and smiled, her attention was quickly grabbed by the sound of heavy footsteps approaching the door and that could mean only one person, Uncle Robert Bobby B had come to visit. As the door swung open she could hear the muffled sound of her mother's voice "Shes young she needs her sleep, let this wait till morning" "I can't wait, I'm travelling again after this"Boomed Robert Baratheon. She opened her arms wide and ran straight towards him and hugged him although it was only the fat of his belly she could reach, Stannis followed shortly after grinding his teeth.
Robert sat down on a chair while Stannis stood by the door and Selyse went to pray with the red women Melisandre, and Shireen sat on the foot of her bed.
"What is the meaning of this?"Asked Stannis breaking the silence "Jon Arryn is dead" Robert groaned "He's dead?"Questioned Shireen in shock "Yes, Now girl, tell me what house are you from?"Asked Robert "I'm Shireen of House Baratheon" She answered with a bright tone and a smile on her face "And what are our words?"Robert asked "Ours is the fury"She replied with a twinkle of light in her eyes "Good, never forget our words they mean something ... something more than Tywin's" Said Robert in resent "Go back to bed, I'll let Ser Davos tell you about his journey tomorrow morning"Ordered Stannis and he proceeded to grind his teeth again. She got into her bed and covered herself in the blanket as the weather from the storm got colder and Robert gave her a small woeful looking smile as he closed to door on his way out.
The night finished uneventfully except for the waging storm. The next day the princess would awaken to find life about to change. No longer would she be stuck in the dark halls of Dragonstone.
"Where are we going?"Shireen asked "North" Replied Ser Davos "Really?"She replied in utter amazement at the prospect of seeing someplace new "Yes,we sail with Roberts fleet to White harbour from their its onward to Winterfell"Said Stannis sternly,He had memories of Roberts rebellion flash before him,He didn't Hate Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell but he didn't like how Robert only saw his victory, not Stannis. He ground his teeth even more and left Shireen to board the ship. She took in all the sights of Dragonstone before she left and awaited with wide eyes at what new things she would find.
They sailed for many days and they all took in the sea salt air, Eventually, they saw the white snow-covered ground and docked at White Harbour. they spent the night there and then continued on towards Winterfell, Shireen found it much colder, she was used to some cold from living at Dragonstone but this was worse, She shivered violently much like the rest of them except for Stannis who steeled himself from feeling it would seem.
They entered the castle of Winterfell, She saw many strange faces, Then watched as Robert hugged someone. Then her attention was grabbed by the younger ones playing with each other "Fun" She thought to herself remembering how even with all her books and tales it was lonely at home, she never knew what it was like to play with someone her age. Before she got the chance to ask her father if she could join them, the stranger who hugged Robert came walking over, so she stays to not be seen as rude.
"Stannis," The man said the man with a nod "Lord Eddard"Stannis replied "You must be little Shireen"Eddard spoke "Princess Shireen" She corrected politely, Eddard chuckled at that "Sorry Princess Shireen," He said, She turned her attention back at the young children playing and Ned noticed "If its alright with your father you can play with my children"Eddard offered to know what she was fixated on and she imminently jumped to Stannis and he just gestured with his head to go to them. So briskly skipped across the Winterfell courtyard.
"Hello" Shireen announced "Hello?"Said a girl who acted more like a boy,she sounded annoyed which put Shireen off a little "Hi"Said Bran with a small smile,Shireen returned the smile then Rickon tackled Bran from nowhere and two pairs of footsteps could be heard walking behind her up to the group, then she heard their voices they where laughing. "Hello"Said Shireen cheerily "Robb, and you are"Spoke one of the two men "Princess Shireen"She replied, Jon Snow looked confused he hadn't heard of her before, so he turned to Robb "Shes Stannis's daughter"Robb spoke again "Pleasure to meet you"Jon finally said "And you too"Shireen replied.
Come on, the Kings asked for a feast everyone's to attend"Said another man with white hair tied under his chin. Shireen tugged on the sleeve of Bran's shirt to get his attention "Yes?"He asked, "Who is that?"She asked pointed at the man That's Rodrik Cassel, Father of Jory Cassel" Bran replied with happiness "Who is Jory?"She asked again but feeling dumb for not knowing anything.
She finally rejoined her family inside the castle of Winterfell and the feast began, She watched at people got drunk and watched girls drool all over the Kings son Joffrey Baratheon. Then she saw the Stark children get into messy fighting with each other and she thought to herself how lucky she was to by Shireen Baratheon the Princess of Dragonstone.
