The diner begins to close and people start to pile outside in the rain. The neon light "Angie's" soon goes out taking our only source of light along with it. Becca decides it's best we get going before the storm gets worse and I agree. We all walk out and disperse as soon as we reach the cars.

I don't know what I was expecting to see, but a black Jeep was not the first on my list. Although it seems...him, however if the color was white that would have thrown me off. The color black suits him, but doesn't it for everyone?

H sits in the driver's seat while I'm in the passenger seat, and Vi's in the back. I instantly get a whiff of vanilla and lilacs once the heat comes on...a strange combination but I don't mind. I turn around and glance back at Vi, her eyes directed to the rain falling on the window. I can't tell whether she's annoyed or simply doesn't care I'm closer to H at the moment.  Hopefully it's the latter.

I take my time to look around while he changes changes the radio station. I feel something near my feet and see a dark blue bag, but whatever is inside certainly wants out. The objects threatening to burst through the surface. I reach down and unzip half of the zipper and instantly notice what the objects are.

Disposable cameras. At least twenty are stashed down there.

"Are all of these yours?" I ask holding up one of the cameras.

He stops toying with the radio and focuses his attention on me. "Oh yeah, I haven't gotten around to developing them."

"I didn't know you liked photography," I state placing the camera back into the bag.

"You didn't ask," he shrugs. Touché.

"You should come over one day. I'm in desperate need of a photo shoot," Vi spoke from the backseat.

I silently roll my eyes. Not that they can hear it anyways. "Um..sure," he mumbles while backing out of the parking space.

None of us say a word after that, the awkward silence being drowned out by "The Neighborhood" playing in the background. I lean my head against the window and close my eyes, tiredness consuming my body.

I feel the car come to a stop and in no time we are back in another parking space outside of campus. I fix my hair and gently rub my eyes to get myself together after the "cat nap" if you can even call it
one.

Vi is the first to step out of vehicle, "Thanks for the ride. I would stay longer, but I hear my bed calling my name." She closes the door and begins toward the building.

"I guess it's my turn to go, thanks again for the ride. Hopefully I'll see you around," I say with a smile. I reach for the door handle and push it open, but I feel a hand in my wrist stopping my movements.

I turn around to speak but he beats me to it, "Can I take you out for lunch tomorrow? My first class ends around ten thirty."

I think about his offer for a moment. "That sounds nice. Just text me the details," I smile which he returns.

I open the door and carefully shut it behind me. As I make my way towards the building I suddenly remember he has no way of contacting me.

I turn around and jog back to his car which happens to be in the same spot. I stop outside his car door window, knocking on it gently. He rolls down the window, "Forgot something?"

"I just realized I don't have your number," I say with a small laugh. He gestures for me to hand him my phone and I do.

He types in his number and texts himself so he'll have mine. He hands me back my phone and I see he put Superman as the contact name.

"Superman? What does that have to do with you?" I ask.

"When you think of a hero you'll think of me," he responds while rolling up his window not giving me a chance to respond.

As he starts the car and begins to back out on to the street, I start walking towards the building with a small smile on my face.

Superman.

Maybe he just considers himself a hero after all.
