I cringed at the pain shooting down my entire body,
I flinched at the stinging words they shot towards me,
My hands flew to shield my eyes from the cruel scene,
I took a deep breath in an effort to get hold of the reality,
What was this that I had gotten myself into?
Was this a new world or or was it the same?
Was I transported to a new dominion or had the curtain just been raised from my eyes,
Why had everything turned out to be so hard,
Yet I hadn't even taken the first step,
The reality had taken off its hood and was now lurking close by,
My mind was unprepared yet the blows intensified,
I tried to pull myself out of the deep pit I had fallen into,
But all my efforts had gone in vain,
Every drop of tear that had dropped to the ground,
Had lost its meaning as soon as it fell.
Every day that I woke up, turned out to be harder to conquer,
The feeling of strength had long faded,
The conqurer had called for surrender,
The army had laid down its arms,
The victory remained ungrasped,
And the loss was the only thing that dropped in the out stretched hands.
I looked at my enemies one more time,
Saw them there, mounted on their tall horses,
Living in their own fortified palaces,
Away from fear,
And away from loss.
I realized than that I had come near to compleing my journey,
Come near to saying my last goodbyes,
I flinched than at the pain that had enveloped my whole body,
And gave way to the darkness that had invaded half my mind
O dear world see you in the life that has to come after,
See you there where we will stand shoulder to shoulder and head to head,
Don't cry for my loss for you have been a faithful friend,
This life was a mere plot of the story created in the skies,
The ending has yet to come so no need to say goodbye.
