Derek's P.O.V.
I wake up with needles in my arm. They must have been doing tests. I think to myself. Today is Friday. My visiting day. I’ve been waiting for this all week. Today is finally the day. My mom walks in.
“Hi sweetie.”
“Hi mom.”
“You ready to go home?”
“Yeah. I can’t wait to see dad.”
“Actually he was talking to your friend Dustin and wanted to meet you there.”
“Huh?”
“Yeah. He said something about talking to you two together.”
“Okay, I guess we could stop over there.”
“Okay great.” She had the doctor take out all the needles, then helped me out of the bed and gave me crutches. We went down in the elevator. After getting in the car we drove over to Dustin’s and my mom texts someone. When we get to Dustin my mom helps me out of the car and walk me up to the front door. She knocks then walks in.
“SURPRISE!” All my friends jump out and give me a mini heart attack. I don’t show it though.
“Wow.” I whisper to myself. “Is this for me?”
“No its for the elephant down the street. Yes it’s for you!” Dustin says.
“Who’s idea was it?”
“It was Dustin’s idea, but I helped him with the details.” Tammy says.
“That’s sweet.” I say kissing her cheek. I think I see Dustin cringe, but I don’t think so at the same time.
“Thanks Dustin.”
“No problem.” Then I see someone was missing.
“Where’s Addison?”
“Uh…” Tammy starts. “He got sick.”
“Oh okay.”
“Sorry.”
“Its fine. Everyone gets sick.”
“Yeah, but he got sick on your visiting day. I would have tried to make it.”
“He isn’t my girlfriend.”
"No but he is your bestfriend. Well one of them.”
“I know.”
"Lets go have fun.”
“Okay.”
"Hey Derek, feeling any better?” Dustin asks.
“Yeah a little bit.”
“Okay glad to hear it.” He says with a smile. He turns and starts dancing with Erin. They both start dying laughing and I’m glad my friends forgave him. I already did so it would be a matter of time before they did. I think this party was his way of forgiving himself as well. And I’m glad he did. I already forgave him and I’m glad he forgave himself.
"Are you thinking about something?” Amanda asks me.
“Yeah.”
“About what?”
“The party.”
“Oh. Okay.” She says ending the conversation to go talk to Sydney and Noah.
“Hey Derek,” Erin says behind Dustin in the conga line “like your party?”
“Yeah, its great.” I reply.
