Kenzie's POV
So I'm at home with my "family" having a normal day which would consist of my mom at work dad in his office working and me sitting in my room listening to music/reading. Apparently mom got done with work early today and so did my dad.
I heard a knock on my door "come in" I say.
"Hey Kenzie how would you feel if we went to go see you grandma today?" My mom asked.
"Sure sounds good we haven't seen her in a while, is dad done with work too?" Is my response and she nods her head.
"Ok when are we going?" I ask.
"In a little bit so start getting ready, ok?" She says and I just give her a thumbs up.
Fifteen minutes later we started our hour long trip to go visit my grandma we haven't seen her in about 5 years due to my parents always working. Which is easier for me to keep my deepest darkest secrets from them and skip many meals without them knowing. Sometimes I wish I could tell them how I feel but, I just get to scared of how they would react that I just chicken out.
It all started back in fifth grade when my whole life got flipped upside down. All my friends left me and became popular and I was left alone when you have social anxiety it really doesn't help when making friends. Then this girl Emma Thompson started bullying me it all started with dirty looks to pulling my hair now she just says mean things to me. There are some people who are nice to me and try to talk to me, but I'm not really good with keeping a conversation so they just let me be.
15 minutes into the car ride to my grandmas my mom got called to go to work there was an emergency so she had to go in. Also it started to rain, but I didn't mind the rain it was relaxing to me.
Once we made it home the storm had gotten worse and it was down pouring I had to wait out in the rain waiting for my dad to unlock the door. I would of sat in the car, but mom had to go straight to work. Once my dad opened the door I ran into the house, not taking my wet socks off, going to go upstairs to get changed into something warm.
Next thing I knew was I slipped ....
